Ive heard a lot of random dubstep that Iv heard through my life, and have always liked it. I come from a hip hop background, and some of the stuff Ive heard in dubstep just put me in a hardcore head not, and I love it. So wheres the starting point for me. Who are the dubstep standards. I guess Im looking for recommendations of good starting points for someone trying to get into dubstep from a hip hop background. BTW, loved the new rob hustle :D | ||

BTW, loved the new rob hustle :D While these are not dubstep if you come from hip hop background check out early autechre (up to and including tri repetae, and then draft 7.30) and early boards of canada (pre geogaddi). For dubstep Scuba is probably something you'd like. I've only heard A Mutual Antipathy from Scuba, but it's nice. My dubstep knowledge is limited though. | ||

At first I was like...egghhh not a fan...but after the 2nd listen it grew on me FAST. The whole song is just really well done. The vocals are amazing, the whole build-up/intro is great, the dubstep part having a sort of "breaking down" feeling (my fav part), and the piano is nice too. edit: btw why do we need a new thread for dubstep? What happened to CM's thread? | ||
