So for all these chapters we keep on hearing how if Kagura unsheathes her sword, it would be an unstoppable power. And finally when she does, it gets stopped by the "power of friendship"
Jesus christ, I wish this manga wasn't so cheesy sometimes. At the very least, let Kagura die from her wounds or sometime, just so we can have 1 memorable death in this series.

Did that really just happened? Kagura unleashing her best attack, getting blocked, suddenly a flashback that renders Kagura's history completely irrelevant to her power, and then Minerva offs her in a single panel. This whole chapter cheapened Kagura's fight. Urgh...
So does this mean Minerva is only powerful because she goes around stealing powerful magics?

This manga really is falling down fast for me, even harder than Bleach has been (which still has some good moments). The fact that I liked it a lot in the beginning makes me keep reading though =/.

It may also be because Bleach has actually been getting a lot better (the shit in the soul king place is actually pretty damn cool). Fairy Tail is pretty much always like this, that's why people like it. I find that it's probably the best pure Shounen manga out there. It pretty much follows all of the rules while still offering some nice action.
However, FREAKING BULLSHIT THAT MAKAROV COULDN'T EVEN SEE IT!!! Erza is half dead right now, and Makarov is way stronger than Erza. How the hell did he not keep up with that?

Kagura's continuous hype and cheap defeat: standard shounen. truly a staple in the culture of manga for ~14 year olds. This is how you keep them children on the edge of their seats as effortlessly as possible. Anyways natsu gonna roll everyone anyways, so hype training the fuck out of the fodder is really essential
If there is a stereotype for shounen, this might be as far as we can get. LOL

Actually before all these nakama nonsense came.
FT was decent.
Things started to go downhill after Edolas arc.
FT is the same in the sense that.
Natsu has like 0 character development.
If you compared him in the beginning and to now,there isn't much difference.
Also,Natsu has never done any serious training to gain new power like Luffy,Naruto,Ichigo,Goku.
So Natsu character as a whole has been static from the beginning from the series.
That's why FT is disappointing.
Also, the battles is getting worse.
This whole Grand Magic Games arc battles is bunch of one-shot one-kill.
The only decent battles are Lucy vs Flare and Chelia vs Lucy.
Now the typical FT battle scenario will roll like this
1.Fighting evenly
2.Opponent starts to overpower.
3.Main FT cast starts to shout some nakama speech.
4.Gain 100000% boost of POWER OF FEELINGS.lollllll
5.Proceed to defeat the opponent in one blow.
