I thought it was great at the start, but right now it's honestly awful.

Lucy gets a huge power up (without actually training for it) -> the match lasts 2 chapters and it's beyond predictable. No "twists" no surprise anywhere. It didn't build up to a climax or anything, it was just a /meh battle. ONLY Natsu notices the hair in a tournament were it's only the best of the best mages? No1 notices that new "evil" guy messing up Lucys new kamehameha? What is this :l

I'm not exactly mad because hey, this is all I expected from fairy tail
Edit: There are three main types of reaction i get from reading, or watching medias.
1. I enjoyed it because it was good
2. I enjoyed amusing myself because it was so bad that it's funny
3. I didn't feel anything because it's just middle ground boring (predictable and boring)

This chapter fall in number 3

It wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be. I thought Lucy was gonna surrender, but that it would have gone through instead of what actually happened.

way back when with oracion seis arc. it was the same spell, but a dumbed down version because she's not quite powerful enough to use it for realsies yet. (less stars i guess?)

Yeah, I also remembered that part but I also remembered that it was a one time use spell because the "library-magic" user pulled it out of his ass and gave it to her so I thought It can't be that one. But if it is, this is a freaking giant plot hole.

yea, i started watching the anime 2 months ago. I didnt quite know what to expect, but i was realy plesantly suprised. You should try for yourself, you wont regret it. Some people say this might even be the next naruto/bleach/one piece

and yes there is some fan service but nothing desturbing, and there is even less fan service in the anime then in the manga so its not like thats a big deal.
