Nakedness is often used as a symbol for helplessness. Plus : + Show Spoiler + it's Erza (uses Armor as magic and has previously stated that she feels week without it) and Mira (transforms with Takeover-Power which drastically changes her Look and Abilities). Besides the obvious gutter thoughts it makes perfect sense to use nakedness as a symbol with 2 wizards who are probably heavyly weakend by it. Besides considering who is in chains and you gets transformed plus the fact that Natsu is already there and what Powers Mira has it is a pretty safe bet how this situation will end anyway^^ | ||

I think i remember the scene you are mentioning (correct me if i am wrong) "uses Armor as magic and has previously stated that she feels week without it" comes from the Tower of Heaven arc were there was a kind of similar setup with erza beeing captured and tied up on a boat/in a cell. It was the same situation just without the nudity and this level of torture. What makes me really angry are two things: First the level of seriousnes in that scene its not just "hurting the good guy by the bad guy because he is evil" the whole scene is completely out of the usual tone and setting of FT. Look closely at erza´s foots, its not just that she is tied up she is tied in a way that her feet will hurt just by standing there. Or the little "rill" or "runlet" on the ground which is clearly for the purpuse of blood or other "body liquids". The second thing has something to do with the point you mentioned: "Nakedness is often used as a symbol for helplessness.". In Fairy Tail its not. The biggest "threat" for them is that their friends get hurt and the bad deamon or whatever already said what she will do to mirajane. And by the way isn´t she saying that the process of "enslaving" mirajane is already going on? So what would be the point for erza talking if it wouldn´t change anything. I have no problem with watching something violent and cruel like torture on a show or a manga as long as it fits to the show, and is done in a respectful way and with a purpose that makes sense in the show´s setting. And not for fucking fanservice or whatever you call that. | ||

Mira continues to get raped by the tentacle monster. The jailor chick in the thong continues to fondle Erza in an attempt to extract information from her, but eventually Erza gets so pissed off that she breaks the sea-stone handcuffs and regains her devil fruit powers. Naked and dripping in what I assume is sweat, her and the thong jailor roll around on the floor in a "fight", with random half-page shots of them in provocative poses. After defeating the jailor, Erza races to Mira. Meanwhile, Natsu has already made it there and for some reason isn't turned on in the slightest. Pretty sure at this point Natsu is gay. Anyway, he fights off the tentacle monster and carries a passed out, naked, raped Mira off to meet up with Erza who is, for some reason, still naked at this point even though she can transform into clothing at will. He hands Mira to her in which case we get a full page of lesbian-esque images of the two naked girls holding each other. The final page is of Natsu's face saying something like "IM GONNA GET YOU" and rushing off somewhere. | ||
