And yeah, I have my doubts the current roster is capable of consistent tier-1 play (if for no other reason than Goblak is not impressive on any hero I've seen) but it's always fun to see them win. As far as I have seen, Goblak is fairly good at defensive/healing supports, e.g. Tree, Abaddon, Chen, but he is mediocre on aggressive/initiator supports. He is at least not any worse than ppd from EG, and EG did quite well in 2014. People bash him a lot lately but most of it is not justified. Yes, he looked bad, but so did the whole team. Dota is a team game and putting blame on separate players without knowing what only team members can know is silly.

For the most part it's just confirmation bias too. Once the notion that the player is "bad" becomes a prevailing opinion, everyone's going to notice every mistake and ignore everything great they do in a game. Navi fans should know this best as XBOCT was often the target of similar preconceptions.

He showed so little discipline it was questionable if he would ever return to being a good carry. And there are still plenty of hard carry heroes he has not proven he can play in today's meta. I don't know if anyone is calling PPD bad, he was a 5 on a team of all-stars and he did not usually do anything amazing, but he has often been a force in games. Goblak has not shown that latter quality yet.

The whole team was playing bad, and motivation and morale issues are a far more likely reason behind xboct's zero fucks given attitude than him being unable to tell what's a good idea and what isn't. But that's besides the point anyway, as plenty of people are calling him bad even when he plays well.

the problem is the draft, but they seem to have found a couple of stable heroes to work with, which i dont know why people think its super bad... remember that alliance won TI3 and their go-to heroes werent more than 2-3 per player, as long as few of them get their heroes things can go pretty well, as long as you have a plan to work with (which they seem to have lately, even in their loses... even if the plan is CHAOS DOTA)

Still, who cares Peter's individual play (to some extent), when you have one of the best strategical captains in the word. The guy is smart, he have very good global planning of the games, from the draft, to the game development.

Goblak, while nothing to be amazed with, has been fairly consistent Lately, yes. Early on he had some games in which his play was cringe-worthy.

I remember when I first started playing Dota. I thought Na'Vi was absolutely invincible. Now I'm hoping that they don't fail to the point of breaking up. (Things are looking uppish, though)

The competition today is harder than yesterday's. If they beat EG even in a BO1, I'll be quite happy.
