Well he kinda is, coaching and helping VP with drafts, strategies etc. He probably isnt good enough to be a player nowadays, but im fairly certain that he can still make good drafts and good in game calls.

I would love to see dendi in the same role, even thought i dont think he is a good analyst.
Its just sad seeing him get run over again and again and it makes me mad that the navi management milks him for his dreams and refuse to stop it.

I would prefer NaVi to release their squad and dont keep any of the players in any capacity. Except Crystalize, but I think he wont stay after this.

The Dendi hate continues. Blows my mind that so many people can keep at the “Dendi needs to be released or switch roles” talk. The guy literally wins mid every game and is still incredibly talented. We’ve had two successful Navi squads in the last 3 years. The Dendi, General, Dityra, Artstyle, Sonneiko stack that was beastly until sonneiko and general choked on the main stage of their first TI, and the more recent Dendi, General, Sonneiko, Rodjer, Crystalize stack. Dendi performs well and excels under the pressure. General, however, as seen in our loss today with brick after brick critical hook shots, seems to fade away when the heat is on.
Sonneiko has been the only constant in successful Navi rosters in recent history and until we find a LEGIT replacement the proble,s will continue. Lil has been shot calling in-game since the Super Major and that clearly hasn’t worked. He needs to go back to pos 4. Very frustrating overall watching a talented team get continuously disappointed because of a lack of leadership and execution. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for CEO twitter statement here in the next few days, but don’t expect any major news until after TI and all teams are looking to either stick together or release the unhappy free agents.

My dream Team Spirit -illidan +Crystallize, but i dont think it will ever happen.
Maybe they release the squad and take some runner up depending on who wins the regional qualifier.
And after TI rebuild the team from scratch, with Crystallize staying as carry if he wants.
Or sadly also likely do nothing, keep Dendi, and General, plus some randoms and do nothing the next season.

Of. Ourse, but Dendi shouldn’t be blamed for his ability, because that isn’t the problem. With a captain who can dictate when and where people need to be through that mid game where Navi struggle Dendi is just as capable as anyone. It’s only when we don’t have that that he looks weak, along with our whole team. Even crystalize “looks” out of position frequently, but it’s because of our lack of vision and awareness from the captain-stand-point. I’m just sayin I don’t feel Dendi is the issue mid. And even so, he’s said multiple times he’d be willing to change roles if the team asked him to.

Same old issues. Dendi just can't captain/draft. He can stay mid. Again I have zero issues about his ability. A good 5 that leads is what they need. Lil can stay if he can follow instructions. Otherwise remove him. General is hit and miss. Can stay too, but will gladly let him go if required.

Ay actually kinda sick of repeating myself every time.

The thing is, who are available captain/drafters willing to join Na'vi now? Impossible to find a veteran who is willing to join this team, Sonneiko seemed to have left on bad terms, and I don't know if they will respect a fresh blood captain much; it's also a really big burden if you're untested.

Maybe they will find captain talent from another region lol.

We already talked about it. There is none. After Artstyle there is fng, who didn't prove to be a good one given he is still in TS with the same players he played years ago achieving once again nothing.
Lets say you give him good players, is that any assurance he will deliver? No, my guess is he is as impossible as any other CIS player out there.
Maybe some unknown captain, but as always in any team, when they start failing, he is the first to fall.

It's just a question whether he has the drive to come back and work on his game once again, as they have a long time to rebuild, you won't find anyone with the drafting chops and respect in CIS

If VP crashes and burn, I can see ArtStyle coming back as pos5, Lil can go back to pos4 and Dendi can stay mid. If VP wins TI or comes in runner-up then I highly doubt it. But oh boy I really want him to come back, since he left.

ArtStyle didnt give away part of his winnings to NaVi out of principle, because it wasnt stated anywhere in their contracts prior to winning TI1, NaVi asked it after they won and he had every right to refuse.

Navi gave ArtStyle and the others 250$/month salary and then suddenly they wanted 20 000$ from everyone.
He was the only one who said no and left, ending in a short boycott from Navi, M5 and DTS against him for rebelling.
In the end no one cares about this stupid incident anymore.

Please stop suggesting Dendi to 3 or 4, not that it isn't a valid suggestion but it distracts us from the real problem. Without a proper captain/shot caller in game it doesn't really matter whatever else they're trying to change.

Even if dendi captains from 3/4/5, there's no difference because he clearly can't draft at all. Really there's no big problem with dendi mid.

The Dendi topic has been beaten to death here and the Dendi naysayers are just as annoying as the Dendi fangays, so take that as you will.

I personally have no preference whether he stays or goes or changes position or whatnot. However two things I consider for the team's sake: its known that pro's dont want to play with him and that is a problem for the team to attract established players/captains. Another thing I see with him is that he does well during the laning stage, but falls off heavily mid/late game with insufficient farm and being out of position very often. Just watch the last game when they got knocked out of the TI qualifiers, he barely hit one boat the whole game, often messing up a simple X boat torrent combo even. That tells me his confidence is non existent because I'm sure a player like him will not mess up simple things like that in a normal state of mind.

why don't pros want to play with him?
