The first game was really close. If EG had maybe 5 more minutes, I think they could have won it. However, what I don't think PPD realized was that DP was just part of the problem. The other major factor in that game was Lich, because with all of the illusions and panda ult and so forth, lich's ult never stopped bouncing and did ridiculous damage. Two times towards the end of the game, Mason wasn't even able to use his refresher cuz chain frost absolutely wipe out his bears. In game 2, PPD has a very bad draft. The first thing is that Newbee drafted Lich and Doom again. Sure, EG may be known for their greed, but they also love to stack bkb-dependent heroes with huge AoE ults. Lich and Doom counter this, and they especially hard-counter Enigma. Second, the wraith king pick was not only horrible but a sign of temerity imo. They had the option to go for a more push-heavy lineup since they had DK, Enigma and Beastmaster. If they had coupled that with a Shadow Priest or Abaddon, they would have had a much stronger early game presence. Or they could have gone for someone with more powerful lane control, such as lion. Even the much-despised CM would have been more useful for the Storm than Wraith King. Instead, PPD stuck with the bland, but hopefully safe pick in the Wraith King. And it sucked really really bad. | ||
