Very shocking news imo It is weirdly good and slow paced. It really leans into the gothic, tragic melodrama of Dracula's fall into hating humanity. Alucard has great, subtle voice acting that makes him seem feel like this difficult, immortal creature that spends a ton of time thinking about things, but also happens to be funny. The action is good, but there isn't to much of it. The whole thing is fucking weird. But I shouldn't be surprised. The main thing that makes a series like Castlevania or the Marvel movies work is people who understand cinema giving a shit about the source material. The series works because they focus down on the fun parts of Castlevania and are given a lot of rope to play around with the concepts.

Iv probably beaten 4 or 5 Castlevania games and I couldn't tell you anything about the source material except that Dracula is bad and some dude named Belmont killed him. If Netflix can produce a good animated Castlevania show then I think there's still hope for Witcher

But if its authentic promotional probably isn't the case Netflix castlevania is good, they didn't went cheap on gore wich is good for the feel of the series. It is an above average netflix show.

They take the best from that and then add in some video game heroes to fight the evil, sad vampire that wants to destroy humanity because humanity made him very very sad.

Ah I see what you mean. That pic does seem unreasonably bad considering the show's being billed as a big-budget fantasy epic. There's been a lot of misinformation about the show already so I guess it's better to be skeptical

Of course we have not seen it in action, this first photo of Geralt is less than encouraging. + Show Spoiler + Like....there are some amazing costume and makeup people in existence. Just look at Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder. Or Gary Oldman's entire existence as an actor. And they are spending millions on this series and they couldn't get a better wig? Because that is some Party Zone Sexy Witch costume level wig going on right there. @Nevuk I'm a late 30s professional, I can afford to be part of the not-shit dota. But also I am a late 30s professional who is married and has other hobbies like owning a house, so Dota isn't really made for me. I don't have time either really, I only play turbo occasionally now. Just figured if you were gonna try ranked roles, you'd want to know where the option was lol

These aren't bubbles but proper safespace biodomes. There really should be some kind of legislation to stop social media companies from suppressing political opinion. Then again I've noticed how just about every "serious"/political/ideological youtuber has a thread on kiwifarms. Like the internet rewards the narcissistic and mentally ill. So maybe the root problem is internet; social groups that are too large for the human mind. I assume TL politics threads look the same. I saw one funny post explaining that bringing in three token wonderfully colored people to call Kanye a token wonderfully colored human (slur) made it not inherently racist or it came down to the semantics of the exact spelling. I don't think I saw any red text there either. Interesting stuff, like a large scale regression to tribal times where everything goes if you sport the right colours. Anyway I wonder if the US midterms will bring on great changes for the internet. I've noticed duckduckgo has been advertising a lot more recently, so they at least seem to think so.
