Hell afaik neither deal is completely finalized and in effect yet Yeah, its like they want the deal making with the part where you put in tons of effort to make the deal happen, including selling the deal to sectors in your nation that will lose out because of the deal. Way to many people don't understand that politics has winners and losers in every decision. I mean trump can't stop crying about the 10% EU tariffs on US cars compared to the 2.5% US tariffs on EU cars Obviously forgetting about US tariffs on EU vans and pick-up trucks is 25% It's almost like things aren't black and white in international politics Aren't like 90% of 'european cars' sold in the US produced in the US aswell? I thought most of the manufacturers have assembly plants in America because they can plaster 'made in USA' on their products for better sales.

We wanted to play though with China on dumping cheap steel and aluminum, so we hit Canada and Mexico with tariffs on steel and aluminum. For reasons…..
My country is real stupid right now and our economy is going to grind to a halt because of it.

Meal was 6.5 hours, 25 courses, prepared by one guy, the story that he harvests 100% of the meal orher than meat and seafood is almost definitely bullshit, The food was still incredible, it was stupidly expensive, i am exhausted, we have spent much of today trying to work out how much of it was bullshit, i got him to sign his cookbook for me, i am so glad i went but will never go back.

Fascinating new yorker profile of where i went

6.5 hour meal lol wut.
Also I'm being convinced that if tech bros and aspiring Silicon Valley employees want to follow in the footsteps of Elon Musk, we've got a problem. We don't need more self-aggrandizing egoists who feel the need to interject themselves into every news cycle as the science messiah with solutions for everything, even though there were perfectly professional and trained SEALs who were prepared for days.
|
Was it as good as this article makes it to be? What do you do besides eating during those 6.5 hours?

We don't need elon wannabes but its still a lesser problem
I like what his companies are doing, but he's indeed annoying

|
And he actually made his riches by himself? And does some good work?
idk that sounds a very long stretch to (uneducated) me.

Why do people hate on Musk? I just know that he's making cool shit happen. help
|
I believe he's an unbearable twat with a messiah complex but on balance i'd rather have him and what he's achieved than no hims and none of what he's achieved
|
People dislike him for trying to supposedly use stuff like the boys trapped in the cave as a PR stunt
I respect that he tried to help and that even if it was just a PR stunt he ultimately did genuinely try to help, also he admits that in the end he did pretty much nothing:
I'm pretty neutral on musk, he does some dumb shit and some good shit Ultimately i'm happy someone with his wealth is doing what he's doing
|
I'm quite positive on musk but I understand a lot of the criticisms
|
I could see the offer of two engineers and a submarine as coming from a place of goodwill, and I like what he's doing with Tesla and SpaceX, but Musk as a person and self-hype guy just doesn't appeal to me.
|
Not everyone has a samsung or apple like marketing budget to create hype
|
rip belgium allez la france
|
man those last 15 minutes were bs the office is rooting for croatia england now lol
|
tomorrow, that game will also be sick
|
Passive u still in London tomorrow?

Musk is like Howard Hughes. It is fun to watch and super abusive if you work for him.
Also there is the whole: “I’m spending my money exploring space tech!!!!!!!!!! THE FUTURE” when all I can think about is “Bitch, can one of you billionaire clowns fix my roads. That would substantively improve life.”
