I just read about it now and the top comment to the article I read is kinda spot on. + Show Spoiler + This is the type of article I only read to annoy myself. I don't own an oven right now so I can't cook.

I kinda enjoyed cooking when I was living on my own. Haven't really practiced it in the 4-ish years I've been back. Just talk to her. I think she would enjoy days off as well. ![]()

I'm currently in possession of neither a stove nor an oven. You'd say something like Kochplatte (cooking fields) for a stove and Ofen for oven if they're separate. It's actually not that uncommon having a gas or induction stove and an electric oven.

Stove = complete unit Oven = Enclosed heated area Range = Cooktop (cooking fields, as you called it) but people just call ranges stoves these days. the term range is correct but I don't hear it widely used these days.

Today, stove is more often used to describe a heating unit you feed directly, like a wood stove. They can have “cook tops”. The key thing to remember is all of these descriptors originated back when we used to cook and heat the house with the same units.

Interestingly, grad students get books (or maybe just unpopular books) for a semester at a time.

IMO i would get an ipad, otherwise look at Xiaomi, Mi Pad
