Also, when are the next big events? Are they all going to happen at once against so PPD can be super pissed all the time?
Uhm we have MLG, Starladder and ESL.

So he jumped ship. Yeah, he just lost the competition battle.
IDK dota is a bit of a disaster atm.

shouldnt be a surprise that dota will shrink to a more sustainable size after some time. gonna get eclipsed more and more by new games to get excited about, and people will continue to jump ship. dont see why it would bother anyone though.

I miss pre-TI4 and TI4 era. That was the best. Now i don't know who to root for when everybody shuffling like crazy. Well at least rosters are a bit bit stabilized now
fucking c9 is dead it's not the fun team i used to know anymore .. fata on the squad was fine but once pld and aui got kicked .. it's not the same fucking team

I don't think there will be any positive change unless either some sort of unification / unionization / centralization from valve starts happening. Valve will probably let it die though. Team stablization won't occur naturally at this point.
anyways the central issue at hand is money anyways.

Not every studio that shoots the moon in Dota is going to make it and it would be really stupid to only cover one game. Its like only practicing one type of law, its a terrible idea.

iirc he was originally a CoD caster

team stabilization wont occur until theres enough money in the scene for players/managers/agents to have real incentive to keep shit together. and no way valve is gonna subsidize a scene that cant sustain itself.

Is everyone here forgetting that Tobi started out casting Counterstrike? This is, like, a return to his days of youth, here. It's not "jumping ship."

The problem is that pretty much every single person involved in the business aspect of the ESPORTS scene is a joke who only got anywhere because ESPORTS has been in a dotcom-esque bubble for a few years now.

The "in depth" seems to happen between rounds and a co-caster could do that.
