It's a downgrade from GW1 imho(combat is worse and there's a distinct lack of features that made gw1 so great), but it's still a solid and fun game with its own charm.

Not official. The WvW commuity made their own GvG gamemode which looks like this: Or this: Everything community organised and not supported by the Devs. Note: what looks like 20 people smashing skills on cooldown is actually quite complicated because they consist of teams between 3 to 6 people each that have very specific skill rotations and timings. For example, 4 Necromancers would be the main dmg dealers and need to place their AoEs at the exact same position. The enemy team has a group of 4 squishy (mostly invis) classes would have to try and pick those Necromancers off 1 by 1 before they can do their AoEs etc. Its really fun, but you need to be in a good guild for that. Otherwise you will get stomped.
Other than that the Devs have taken the Riot approach to make this game "esport" and are having tournaments like twice a year with 4 teams competing in the official conquest PvP game mode. And in the upcoming expansion there will be a moba gamemode with creeps and killing an enemy lord in their base. Looking for suggestions how to call the gw2moba.
