I've never seen anything that funny come from LoL. They can throw money at it but I'll be surprised if they can meet the standards of the international.
I for one am not going to watch this. I just don't like how Riot is treating this industry.

I used to play LoL in the interim between not having a stable group of people to play WC3 DotA with anymore and getting into DotA 2. Can't say I'm terribly interested mostly because I find watching LoL worse than watching paint dry. Coming off an amazing tournament at TI doesn't help matters much either.

Pretty much LoL players jumping to DotA2, Chinese dota1(most likely pinoy as well) jumping to dota2, SC2 non-pro-gamers also getting dota2 for a back up plan in case HoTS fail (which it looks like so). There are really bad rumors about riot from pretty much every perspectives: players, employees, partners, etc... TI2 did quite a HUGE passive impact on the gaming market overall.
DotA 2 deserves to become huge though, valve seems to be one of the last (if not the last) big gaming company that is mostly free from bullshit imo, not to mention DotA's heritage and that Icefrog is working on it.
Next to Valve Riot just looks like some facebook game company grabbing money, I know I'm being biased but more than hating Riot I just want to see DotA 2 become massive rather than LoL and unite the scene even if that doesn't only bring in good things.

2ndly: its a different game with a very different audience, they may as well have a different approach in representing the tournament. As far as we know, their casters are better at analyzing the game into ground level so newb have an easier time of what is going on. As long as they know their own strength, use them right, they still have a pretty good chance to pull off a good show. Topping TI2 production quality however, is almost close to impossible as crews like that might have to book quater or yearly in the show biz scene.
3rd: They have a huge audience and fanbase in NA still. As far as we know, NA is LoL play ground where they have a huge players/fans number. With that they still can top TI2 as it will be more appealing than TI2. Remember the majority of 600k views in TI2 were from China which is quite irrelevant for tournament organizer as well as sponsor since they, mostly, dont have much interest in such market. This has been stated by 2GD himself on LO3 this afternoon, if you wana hear more detail i recommend you to study the vods.
What am i expecting after this LoL final: 1/Blowing number of viewer: if im riot, i will trade some of my marketing money into bitcoin and make this happen.
2/Complain about incompetence caster when compare them to tobi: typical, i already analyzed this in my dreamhack hype blog.
3/Balance complain: well its LoL.
4/Most importantly: if the final/semifinal anyhow fail to live up the hype and fail in creating an appeal story. The fever/trend will be toned down and a lot of people will be looking to try out DotA2. In order for this to happen, a large number of cheap beta keys needed to be provided... all up to valve.
What am i currently really looking into is sc2 scene with the current WCS production quality as well as HoTS design. There is a huge chance HoTS wont be sold as much as WoL simply bc most of people already stop playing sc2 and switch into watching instead. As the emerge of Korean scene domination last year, the stories in sc2 tournaments has failed to live up to expectation. once the kespa players start competing in sc2 foreign scene, if they cant really show a unique personality like MC/stephano, the scene will simply heavily tone down and after 2 years it will probably return to the Broodwar 2006-2009 size.
But yeah that enough about random shits, now could anyone explain to me why Razor scepter ulti doesnt decrease building armor? ;(

Now I feel a little bad for disliking m5 for their theatrics, hopefully they'll clean up over time though.
