I demand some courier farming sim, where you raise and train couriers to work on the fields of Dota, and maybe battle. Or a game where people command armies of couriers. Beaver Knight vs Shagbark to the death.
100% day one purchase for me!!!

If a mod with copyrighted material became such a draw that people bought Skyrim because of the mod alone, then Bethesda might end up on the copyright holder's litigation list. Its sort of like when CS prime (the mod) was released and they used the names of real guns. Then when Valve charged for it, the names were removed and replaced with names like AWP.
Again, its not about if they are right or wrong, but if they care enough to sue and their case is strong enough to not be immediately dismissed(which is a pretty low bar).

I know nobody makes money of those mods, i was just pointing out that we can't be sure how it's going to play out. Just because copyrighted stuff ends up in the workshop there's no way to be sure if it'll escalate into the copyright holders pressing charges or anything.

Riot going to not be happy if people copy LoL over to Dota(which is very possible). Even if people don't make money of it prolly
that would be ironic though haha.

Yes, of course. I just think that Riot is a very special case where they will have a pretty short trigger on if they suit up and shoot the lawyers at Valve for custom maps. Blizzard too, though Valve and Blizzard seem to be on good terms when it comes to there copyright non-sense and have reached a pretty good level of communication on it.

Yeah, I remember when Blizzard was chill enough to let us keep Skeleton King. I mean it's not like they own the rights to Skeletons, haha. So all we did was change his name from Leoric to Ostarian and Blizzard was totally cool with it.

Like for real, that country hates skeletons or viable bones. Go look at "low violence Clinkz" and see the best black blob you have ever seen.

So i doubt it.

I miss skeleton king so much I mean he has some new and baller voice lines, but it just aint the same. Even with stuff like http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/dota2.gamepedia.com/a/ae/Wraith_items_18.mp3 you just can't top the king of bones ;_; His model wasn't anything special, but it felt awesome and he was one of my favourite heroes to play because his voice lines were just right and fit him so well.

Clinkz is just a black blob with armor and bow, and Lifestealer has a mask. Thats really how they solve most of the the problems, with a mask. I think they renamed him because they couldn't call him Skeleton King and then put a "not Skeleton model" into the game, because that would be really dumb. Or just call him a different name in china and confuse everyone.
So yeah, we get Wraith King.

Low violence Clinkz actually looks more menacing than standard Clinkz.

i'm pretty sure there is a mod that allows you to play with his old model.

Wow I think because of how much exposure TI4 gives to DOTA, a lot of players forgot some less used heroes.
I played Magnus for the first time in a long time, and the game was....easy.
So my friends and I decided to go old-skool in ranked MM. How old-skool? We went Magnus/Sven/Lina.
Our Sven went 18/0/22, off the back of the 2-5man RPs i was landing. I think too many people only follow the meta, they forgot/dont know how scary Magnus is. Those people that I just raped probably hasn't faced a Magnus in a long long time. I was also getting a lot of easy blink skewers into towers or chasing people down with Shockwave spamming on the short cooldown.

I love you oldschool builds. But seriously tho, I just realised how much people are affected by the so-called meta. How do you not know you need to position properly to prevent RPs from raping your team? You cant explain 5man RPs man. If your letting a magnus 5man RP your team, you deserve to lose. Magnus secret weapon for climbing MMR.
|
If your opponents let you land 5 man RPs builds doesn't matter, you will be winning with anything.
|
I miss Magnus. Ever since they nerfed his level 1 RP, he has been a sad panda. I wish they could get him back into the meta, he was a blast to watch and always lead to some totally amazing team fight moments.
|
magnus is still really good imo. the damage on rp is kind of overkill anyway
Cant wait for regular warcraft 3 melee maps to be ported into dota2.
|
I tried playing Magnus a few days back, they counter picked a Rubick who stole 90% of my RP's, for the 10% he wasn't there.
I still didn't get called out for it since as usual rest of my team did even worse than me.
One of those heroes I feel like playing once a year.

Seeing all of the posts and comments about the new workshop modding/source 2 is pretty hype. :D
Really excited to see what Jicyphex and M.O.D. are able to do in the near future.
