the reason why tiny is never going to be the undisputed god of carrys is because he is melee and his illusions are too strong.the fatter a tiny gets the more effective ds,sd,morph, etc become on the other team
He's a good hero right now but tiny without wisp is still pretty questionable and it's hard not to telegraph a tiny wisp draft,so teams can never really get caught off guard by it and are always able to pick something against it.

No. Tiny is literally the best carry in this version of dota

I expect to see him first banned/picked a lot. And here's the reason

Tiny punishes mistakes incredibly hard right now, while also carrying really goddamn hard, a single mistake against a level 16 tiny with aghs basically guarantees a raxing due to his damage output.

Also, i'm waiting for troll to come back. And then we get to see the glory of tiny/troll

AM is fine in the right situations (as he has always been), we had two AM games a week ago where in both games the AM didn't die once.
LGD vs HGT (Xiaotuji, 9/0/3) and VG vs DT (Sylar, 16/0/4).

What's the cycle for strategy in Dota? It's getting balanced enough to where this might be a thing. I think DK probably have an idea of this based on their Starladder showing. EG look like they might have something too.

Something like...
push > team fight > ganking > push... perhaps?

Of course, Dota is immensely complex and everything is situational, but some kind of guideline should exist.

AMs new ult AOE is insane though.
I seriously think he's a viable pick against stuff like shadow shaman and qop because they expend so much mana that AMs ult will deal crazy damage in an AOE with a level 11 ult.
Maybe teams need to build him as a bit more of an early game fighter instead of rushing bfury, idk.
The AOE is just so stupidly big now. 500 fucking AOE.

I hope he makes a return for TI4
From the Ghastly Eyrie I can see to the ends of the world, and from this vantage point I declare with utter certainty that this one is in the bag!

No, my argument is that he pushes incredibly hard and carries hard, no other carry brings the level of lategame FUCK YOUR BASE that Tiny does.

I've literally been sitting watching a match with a friend, and going, "oh, its tiny time now." And watching Tiny just win a game out of nowhere because he kills t3s in like 4 hits with aghs, and raxes just as fast.

Tiny is incredibly punishing of a single mid/late mistake, in ways other carries just aren't, even other push heavy carries like Lycan.

Do not underestimate this hero. A lot of his competition has taken nerfs, and he's incredible against other melee carries in particular because of craggy. Particularly strong against Ursa who has been prominent this patch.

And finally his 'illusions being strong', has never stopped a carry from being prominent in Dota. Ever. Antimage's illusions hurt. Morphling's illusions hurt. Terrorblade's illusions hurt. Luna's illusions hurt like hell, PL's illusions create armies, spectre's illusions kill everything, Naga illusions are tanky as fuck and usually have a radiance attached.

The argument that the other team could make an illusion of your carry is pretty much irrelevant, like it almost doesn't matter what carry you pick, most of them are gonna have REALLY strong illusions just due to how agi carries build and the items they tend to buy, particularly butterfly.

Tiny is going to be the dominant carry, there's very little to contest him right now, and he's crazy strong in the dual mid meta that's developing.

erm..

this may be bullshit. I don't know. In general doing well in the laning stage and taking the right trades when it comes to towers and farming seems more important.

The deciding factor for Tiny is going to be how stable a pick he is without Wisp. A lot of his value right now is teams comfortably being able to get him with Wisp in picks 3/4 when the enemy team can't take the other to deny you without ruining their own draft. An overwhelming number of games where Tiny is played are with the Wisp pick, for obvious reasons, and without a doubt, Tiny without Wisp has his back does have his issues, the question is how comfortably can teams draft around these issues if they get Tiny really early and can't get Wisp. This isn't exactly a question you can definitively answer yet because it depends on every other high-value hero that develops out of this patch.

If Tiny without Wisp becomes stable, then picking Tiny is going to create a lot of draft pressure because it will force Wisp bans/picks at awkward times in order to deny them. Conversely, if Tiny can't get away from being tethered to Wisp, he's going to have a hard time breaking out from pick 3/4 to pick 1/2.

I feel like the cycle is more rat>teamfight>gank>rat, where 4p1 is (usually) a specialised kind of rat and push is a specialised kind of teamfight.

But idk, really.

I would say the opposite, actually. People will see the items, and they'll buy more points to get more of the items.

That's not really right. 4-protects-1 has variation within other types of teamcomps. Teamfight 4-protects-1 is honestly more common than split-pushing, split-push/map control teamcomps are a lot of times better for developing multiple cores.

Yeah I mean I pulled that out of the air. I do see antimage/morph/etc 4p1s as a rat subset though, since they rely on keeping the other guys busy while the carry performs an alternative objective.

I feel like there is a kind of rock-paper-scissors thing somewhere in there though, whatever the definitions are.
