i think the active doesn't work on illusions though. It does. er i think the way it works is: if you pop drum charge and then create an illusion while the buff is active, they will gain the ms/as buff but if you create an illusion, then pop a charge, the aoe buff is not applied to the existing illusions or am I remembering this completely wrong wtf That's how it works in DotA 1, but in DotA 2 it was changed to work the way you'd expect it to.

Everyone gets it. But MM is used to close the gap and with the move speed. They is no point to having MM with a blink dagger when you could spend the gold on other, more robust items like blade mail or drums for more mana and stats.

if your arguing against blink dagger on axe than your phone isn't the one that's drunk my friend. ;o

the only alternative to blink dagger on axe was forcestaff but that became obsolete as well since the 0 cost on blink change.

anybody else paid attention to this swedish team mmc? they look to have great potential, they recently took a game from empire, beat PR 2-1 and just today beat fnatic 2-0
apemother especially has impressed me

doesnt axe get like a billion armour when he uses his call thing so a blademail will do jack shit?
|
Holy shit.. Unranked must truly be 100 % unranked. I got put into a team with a solo queueing guy who said he was 2950 MMR in ranked. What the flying fuck volvo.

I was just thinking today that I can never make a dps Axe to work. I did alot of experiments in all these years but I never find a satisfying build. Mjornir Axe is so bad so dont even...

Yeah but he still tends to soak a lot of magic shit unless he catches all 5. Still legit imo.

Yes but axe is still prone to being in places where he takes abusive amounts of damage so you pop blademail when you anticipate taking damage, not necessarily when you call people. Its a survivability item in that it dissuades enemies from killing you since you kinda are constantly over-extended.
Its not really core imo, but it's definitely buyable.
And call is actually only like 40 armour or something which is a lot but far from physical immunity.

Damage reduction = ((0.06 × armor) ÷ (1 + 0.06 × armor))
With 40 armour, that's 70,5% reduction
A lvl 1 Axe gets 71,6% damage reduction
Please don't use blademail during call, unless you missed a skywrath mage and he's about to drop an ult on your head.

BM reflects nukes etc.. and the duration is 3.2 sec at level 4, better use it when initiate.

You use it when they r gonna dmg u. Whether thats during call or after depends on who you catch (and especially who you DON'T catch) and how they damage you.
You can't make blanket statements like "Do use it during call" or "dont use it during call".
|
Well I was thinking of other ways of getting into call range, MoM and battle hunger would have the upside that you can keep chasing after initiation. I am not saying it would actually have to be better than blink. Just something more effective in single player. Solo queue.
There is a guide for SnY Axe, but I think it's just awful. It is just saddening to hear the line: " There is no team in Axe". And then you are forced to work with a team to some extent.
|
Theres like a billion bad ways and ~3 decent ways to initiate with axe. 1) blink 2) tiny toss 3) Centaur ult. Honourable mention to naga ult I guess. Force I suppose gets honourable mention for being a strictly-worse blink.
running in with mom on is like... yeah... no.

The best way to keep chasing after your initiation is for someone to actually die to your ultimate. Honestly even a Dagon would be better than MoM.
Though really, Axe sort of wants to float in and out of fights with his CDs and his ult because he's not really a strong autoattack hero, and his main threat comes when he can get a call on a bunch of people for them to get stuck hitting you and spins (note how Call and Blink have roughly the same CD). Blademail essentially acts as a means of punishing people for trying to kill you during your first Call down-time, so that either someone suicides into you and you get to ult them, or you get to disengage, Urn up if you have Urn, and then Blink->Call and look for ults again when Call CD is up again.
