IRC chatter should remain in IRC - http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=tl.dota2

Posts that relate to topics with their own thread, such as in News, Tournaments or Strategy should go in those threads.

I had a 56% win rate at around 700 games in than after a week or so than after I plummeted back down to 51-52%.

I don't really care though.

Same. I've been losing a lot recently. Not that drastic though, but it's still demoralizing sometimes.

Anyway NS item build anyone?

I go Bottle-Treads-Wand-Urn-Armlet-BKB-Halberd. If gets too late game, then maybe Abyssal or Heart to replace Bottle and Urn.

I personally think NS's Aghs map hack is so so underrated.

Still it's circumstantial whether you need to provide utility, damage or tank for your team. I think basher into a abyssal is quite okay though.

i dont have any standard item build past upgraded boots and urn, the hero depends a lot on lineups and how the game goes

The main issue with that is that it lowers his presence even further once the first night ends. Basher at least gives him the ability to do some minor lockdown, but without even that, your only real function will be vision. Lots of other heroes provide vision, but they provide a hell of a lot more throughout most of the game. Past that early stage, all Night Stalker provides is a silence, a slowing nuke, and some rather lackluster right-click DPS. Basher gives him reasonable lockdown as well. I guess Aghs would work fine if you had heroes who could seriously abuse the vision, like some blink initiator or Clockwerk. Perhaps it would offer real value in a teamfight-oriented lineup: you're guaranteed perfect initiation every time. Something like Alliance's Siren, perhaps?

Also, quick aside. Does anyone named Yango know whether gem truesight range affects the full area of NS Aghs vision? It could be implemented oddly so that it doesn't quite work.

Okay, was wondering if it provided additional options for NS Aghs.

That is my one real complaint about matchmaking. I understand that some games will be stomps and some games will be close, and there isnt REALLY a good way to deal with that from a systemic standpoint just because the people playing your game are human and will fuck up.

But for some reason I have found MM to be VERY streaky. I dont mind having one or 2 bad games that end in losses, but when I lose 5-6 straight, even if only 2 of those games are blowouts and the other 4 are good games, the losing streak makes it seem much worse.

People should understand that it's possible to be consistent in matchmaking even when there are supposed problems with who they're matched with (lol).

Admiral bulldog and Puppey used to exclusively solo queue and hardly lose. Dendi and Sing just spam queue. Some players play IXDL-I if they don't like MM, other players don't bother with in houses.

people dont get it by the time first night ends... a 12 minute aghs NS can be done but it makes no sense

Agha is a great item on NS, but it's good for specific kinds of games. Flying vision is only good in the kind of game where your team really needs to fight for/exploit vision control. As far as being a straight-up fighting item, Aghanim's stats are unimpressive for it's cost.

NS' item selection really does vary from game to game, due to how much the hero's own role can vary. There are a lot of game-changing items on the hero, but they accomplish particular things that don't always fit the game in question.

Winning consistently is different than having consistently good games, win OR lose.

First is (largely) a factor of player skill.

The second isnt.
