Why are you low on HP?
Unless you're constantly getting ganked your HP really shouldn't be lowered much, using your bear to control the lane and keep the enemy off you while you can farm fairly easily with your range.
I personally didn't have many problems against most enemies, unless they ganked a lot even if the gank didn't kill me it'd lower my hp a lot.
Just use the bear to keep enemies off you when you can.
550 attack range and 315 base move speed, sooo easy to solo mid with sylla.
Also, remember you can always skip your ult till later on in the game, it's not ideal for the laning.

this pretty much, as long as you arent letting the creeps stray too far from your farming you shouldnt need that much regen, against most mid heroes.

Hmmm I guess that makes sense.
By the way, the bots of DotA2 are just amazing. Especially the unfair bots are really good in comparison to anything I have played, pretty much. They chain stuns really well etc. and lasthit pretty well, too. If they just didn't all group mid for no reason it might even be fun to play vs them.

I think it's some decent lanining practice at least for beginning players =P Play vs them -> 60 minions at 11min solo mid in a random matchmade game

I play against bots a lot because I suck and like to practice lasthitting against them, watching the bots AI improve every patch has been really cool actually, the last patch made them significantly more interesting and aggressive. Now they even ward the common spots and pick teams around stunners/carries. Still need to work up the stones to hit the find game button sometimes :p
