the lane concept vg had was quite sick if u think about it. lgd cn had two options of either dual laning mid or aggressive trilaning. since SD was the farming/solo hero mid, if lgd.cn aggressived, Lesh just moves bottom and wisp ck lesh is fine (stronger than wisp ck sd imo)
then sd is left alone to solo brew and brew will lose in that. regardless, mid lane was won no matter the lanes and safe lane would either crush or go even.

I can't see syllabear not crushing top vs a gyro(that would be the safest pick for the safe lane). SD vs panda is just so onesided..

If LGD trilaned against wisp, leshrac+ck is still very potent..100% stuns from leshrac means dead heroes. IMO LGD's response was perfect, they just got outplayed.

Also worth mentioning is that VG pick their wisp as 4/5th picks which is logical, because they realize if they pick it early they'll just get stomped. Drafting by VG was very well done overall. It's how it's supposed to work...counter shit not just pick heroes that are OP and play it out like that.

IMO, Jugg Rubick SK vs CK Wisp Lesh isn't great, but if LGD position themselves better, they will win that lane (just because how strong jugg spin is versus any sort of stuns). It comes down to play, but I think LGD wins that lane unless their supports misplay / get massively out of position.

Yes, SD beats Panda mid, but I"m not sure Panda would lose that lane so hard that he wouldn't get any farm / he would be solo killed.

But I will concede, LD will beat Gyro. Not doubting that one.

I do think LGD DID get outdrafted, but I also think they chose the worst set up they could have.

Edit:We've also talked about SD mid before - while he does win a lot of mids, he ultimately doesn't offer almost anything in the midgame. He really doesn't have much more impact after a few minute than he would have had as a support.

If SD catches the level 6 timing (he's level 6 while Panda's still level 5) he can solo kill Panda.

True, but Panda should recognize this, and be conservative, wait in XP range, and hit level 6. I'm hoping ddc (derp) is smart enough to realize this, and recognize (because of the offensive trilane you are running) that supports cannot rotate to gank him. If he just plays a more passive lane when he's level 5, he shouldn't die.

iG,VG,LGD.cn,DK,TF.

And VG was team of unpolished gem when they first formed during G-League.
And if you look at their debut match against iG,they showed tremendous potential by having a decent lead but they lack experience in the mid-late game department.
The games against iG were actually quite close.

Now with ZSMJ back in the VG and VG are looking sharper than before.
They are real contenders for the TI3 qualifier winners.

2009 is good at spotting up talents.
First it was ZSMJ,then YYF,Sylar and now Cty.

Road for Chinese domination at TI3.

I don't think you can put VG in that tier yet. They won vs LGD who just changed their roster.

VG still has very wonky games sometimes, pubstack ftw. But imo they'll get refined enough in time to challenge the top dogs.

LGD's tri would have 2 melees though. That is not necessarily a big deal if you can get kills or at least be threatening enough to get good farm on your carry while shutting down the enemy carry. I don't think they would have a chance to kill CK, and the only way to kill Wisp/Lesh is if they get initiated on by Telekinesis, which shouldn't happen if they position themselves correctly. The trilane would probably be somewhat even and could go either way I guess. Meanwhile LGD would lose mid and top, so basically they would have one even lane (arguably) and 2 lost lanes.
I assume they thought they wouldn't lose mid that hard, would shut down Sylla harder and that Jugger wouldn't feed bot as much - but alas none of that came true.

Yep, I believe they will be one of the established top teams on the level of iG, LGD, DK in a few months or so.

In few months? Man, i think they will be there way earlier or even now. It's interesting to see how well VG performs in the next couple of weeks. (Qualifiers, D2SL..) Definitely bit early to say after one or few matches, but this month will be pretty good showing period of their current strength.

Its quite hard to say - I mean, they beat LGD using what was effectively a pocket strategy (meaning, that its something I'm sure LGD hasn't played against in awhile).

Let's wait and see how good VG after a few more games.

But the core of the strength of VG's strategy, not surprisingly, was the LD pick. Again, I will contest that LGD would probably win bottom (telekinesis is one of the best initiation spells 600 range instant cast), but i'm not sure it would have won them the game, if only because of the advantage LD would have.

Currently Only Alliance can compete with them. This team is solid.
And also you got X-factor(Orange and Zenith) which can take games off from even the best team.
Orange and Zenith are looking much stronger now compared to during TI2.

I don't see much hope in the rest of Western team.
Navi hasn't been impressing me lately.
Maybe TL can pull a few upsets.
For me,it is looking grim for the Western teams.

Being an established top team is not about current strength or winning a few games against other top teams (who may or may not be in good form), it's about performing consistently and placing on tournaments over an extended period of time.

MUFC looks good, Zenith looks good, I still have quite some question marks with Orange though, they are so extremly volatile and rely a ton on Mushi.

Funny - lately Orange has impressed the most out of the SEA teams. In my book, they show almost as much potential as any other chinese team.

Ya Orange is volatile.

But saying they rely a ton on Mushi is so wrong.
They got Ohaiyo,Net,ky xyand Xtinct.

It's just that Mushi tend to outshine the rest of his team because of his solo mid skills and flashy play(very similar to Dendi)
Net is so underrated.

SEA teams can always take games off from the best team.
But they lack consistency to continue doing so unlike the top Chinese team.

Haven't seen the games but Orange got 2-0'd by RisingStars a few days ago.
They also seem to have trouble with MUFC, and lost to VG as well (though it was just a bo1).
Pretty sure they'll bounce back though.
