Valvestore located in the EU plz. FOR FUCK SAKE I'M SO TEMPTED TO GO TO TI3. But so expensive. Anybody who was there at TI2 who can comment on just how worth it being there is? I'd prolly have to drop a good 2k USD to go there. TI2 is different from TI3. Its the first event that has limitted immortal items and all of those items are worth hundreds of dollars now. So if you went to TI2, spend like extra 50$ or so on the shop there, you effectively earned yourself 2k worth of USD now. TI3 wont have the same price effect because everyone already know that its gona happen so visitors will stock up items, supply increase lower the price later.
But if you just wana go for the players and the games. Go for it.

This means the courier I got from TI2 is going to be worth more. Too bad I'll never trade it.

So is the compendium thing going to be accessible only from inside the Dota 2 client?

So is this compendium thing a live event thing only or can the online warriors who are too poor to go also use it?

Unless they sell the same courier again most likely not, the courier system this time will have a level up similar to starladder or TPL couriers or G-1 courier. They said it in the compendium page with the 'pets' as couriers.

I don't even know how they come up with this stuff. I remember back when Dota 2 was first announced, all the news shows were speculating whether or not Valve have it in them to partake in esports, citing their lack of action for counterstrike. Don't think any other company can compare with Valve now.

TI2 brought us tournament tickets and pennants. I can't wait what else apart from the compendium Valve gives us now!

The couriers came in scratch cards: Lockjaw: 100$ Smeevil 250$ Ddroro 180$(?). The only thing you might be giving up going to LAN is no spectator client therefore no items drop. TI2 tournament couriers value way higher than normal couriers. I sold my Navi Lockjaw for 250$, 150$ above market price.

Ohmy. Steamupdate. Only took Valve like 10 years for this. ;>
General:
- Added rate-limiting of Steam game downloads, via Settings -> Downloads

im a bit dissapointed with the only 25$ of sales being added to prize pool. its not like the compendium is going to cost them a huge expense to make but i guess they gotta make that money. but i feel even 50% would have still been profitable. But hey its the same they do for items so ye

Exactly what I thought this morning. The compendium might not be the biggest innovation since the lightbulb but all the small things they do again and again get the hype going. They are doing one hell of a job making TI the best e-sports event miles above everything else.
