Though i guess any sniper build is viable when you end up with 700 gpm on a sniper. people who don't get force staff just cry tears of blood because of shrapnel.

I know she can be played as a weak carry but now is she stronger? Not much. She still a support who can transition well to a semi carry if she has farm. Just like in Dota1.

Mainly because people were worse at the game, they were more concerned with what they were doing and building their hero. The laning phase was thus much longer, and you really only grouped as 5 to finish the game. This is pre-frozen throne, so it's not back a little while, it's back in like 2005 to Eul's final RoC dota version. (I've played it exactly once and it was years ago). I have realized that him being a high skill level could be entirely true but that the skill ceiling has been raised immensely in that time period and it's also been seven or eight years since he played. It is nice not to have to teach someone how to lasthit, the importance of towers, mana management, etc. but it's relative. He has some just strange weaknesses in his play like randomly buying a magic stick as a starting item or neglecting to buy wards/chicken as a support (in fairness he doesn't know the ward spots). I get the feeling he wasn't really a support player. He said he was primarily a jungler when I asked him and RoC era jungler apparently translates very differently. His laning phase is good for a player of his experience (ie he might die or give up first blood but I've never seen him just feed and typically he wins his lane). His teamfighting has also surprised me as it's always quite good unless he's on a new hero. It's knowing when to TP (not in the sense of TPing out of danger, despite not buying wards his map awareness is decent, but just if he should TP to defend that tower or help out in that fight. Not really something you can teach, I know), where to go to get farm as a carry, mid-game stuff that's the issue. He tends to fall further and further behind unless it's sort of a "win teamfight -> push throne" scenario at 30 minutes. A large weakness was that his understanding of a blink dagger is um... poor to say the least. Explaining how to use blink on a hero like ES might seem simple but saying just "you blink into the middle of their team and ult them" isn't accurate as then he saved his blink for teamfights and didn't know the range on it, didn't use it to chase or initiate with long range fissures, etc. He also seems to think we're really far behind a lot whenever he himself is doing poorly (or in one case as earthshaker actually doing well but not realizing he was). That's nothing to do with someone being a new player to me though, plenty of players seem to feel that way and at least he asks me if we're losing. The issue with older dota was a lot of things don't transition to the game that it is today. Jungling was uncommon, mid was not a solo lane (instead the short lane was), people didn't know what last hitting was for a long time, Blink dagger (although I believe not introduced till later) didn't have the 3 seconds on attack, wards were not used despite having no cd, and consumables didn't exit for quite a while. Most people were buying regen items like rings because they didn't understand the power of tangos etc. Also gg branches started to be a trend outside of pro matches REALLY late in dota, and was an easy way back the to spot a good player since they understood the importance of stats over static regen items like sobi mask, ring of regen and ring of bas. Honestly the game changed dramatically so rather than relate too much back, just draw on his experience with the game for its basics such as last hitting and map awareness rather than warding, support and such. He is still going to have to learn roles, items, heroes, it just takes time. RoC dota was incredibly imbalanced compared to what it is today so the game play really didn't have a steady style like it does now. Until he plays enough, he doesn't know the strength of all the heroes, what he can defend and what he can't, its simply feel. Also in the case of farming where he falls behind, it may be that he travels around too much when it is completely unneeded and thus falls behind in item progression and levels due to lack of being in a lane, or in successful ganks.

Been going phase/soul ring at the start, into quick AC, then bkb, domi/atanic, abyssal, been doing really well so far for the past few games. Any thoughts/suggestions on that style of build? I've been noticing that by trying to go midas on doom like I have been it delays him coming online by too much, to the point where other stronger late game heroes come online at about the same time and then just outcarry him. With this I've been coming online before the other teams carries and just stomping them severely delaying or preventing them from coming online. I don't understand your use of the terminology "coming online". Aren't you already online when you are playing the game? Even if you are playing against bots, you still have to be online and connected to the server don't you? I'm assuming that you aren't using hacks that cause other players to drop and then prevents them from coming back online... Your build does seem like a very strong way to play doom though. I think I'll try it out and post results.

Until a carry has the items to come online and make a difference in fights that hero is basically useless. Ah sorry, I had just never heard the term before. I'm trying your doom build next game!

I think it has a super fast~ and COOL! style, just like Scripted Connection⇒ (A) Also great pushing cabability with early ac! (≧∇≦)ъ ナイス! I think you could use some manta style, though. Doom is already a pretty fearsome hero to see compared to weak phys burst carries like antimage and necrolyte, but wouldn't 3 dooms just freeze your opponents heart with sheer terror? Is what I feel . _ . no but in all seriousness that builds awful dooms not a dps carry and anyone who tells you otherwise is trolling you

Most people probably wouldn't recommend a build like that for doom though TBH. Most seem to go with vanguard and radiance, and then AC or even shivas.
