Moba was coined by a guy who is 99.99% a pedophile and 100% proven shady organizer in multiple games including dota and hon. He created a site that tried to merge League, hon, dota, BLC, and demigod into one news place. He used the term moba there.
But anyone who wasn't there to see it happen like the vast majority of the sc2 community is totally confused and baffled by it.

It would be like if he made a website and decided to call broodwar, warcraft, and sc2 the term 'SDFKLJWER' And he flew tasteless and artosis over, who after the event didn't comment at all on the integrity of Gus and said he was only nice to them. They said these things in full plain sight of all the evidence against Gus who scammed the PPSL and IGN.
If a scammer scum like that guy made a term like that, you think your everyday person on TL or person who didn't play league/hon/dota would start calling sc2 a SDFKLJWER game? No.

This guy hunter organized shady ass tournaments, DID NOT pay out prizes he promised, and even posted on TL trying to get involved into this community. But he never posted again once people who remembered him pointed him out.
All that happened, but people still think MOBA is this totally connotation-free neutral term.
It's really dumb imo but its too late and I don't care enough [ as do most ] about who uses it and who doesn't.

What if a major organization that laid its roots into the community categorized its game as an SDFKLJWER. The term MOBA has become kind of like what DOTA was because of riot. If riot decided to call their genre SDFKLJWER then most of the new players who play dota would call the game a SDFKLJWER type game. Instead they decided to call it MOBA. Its just the benefit it has as the biggest game in the western space and it doesn't really matter what the origins of the term were unless you want to discredit the company, but I doubt riot gives a fuck. I bet riot doesn't even know about hunterX Dota had the same benefit when it was the biggest game in the western market. It doesnt even matter. I would prefer it be just called DOTA, as that is the most concise description of the game.
They could call LoL: DONT(Defense of Nexus Team) lolomgbbq

I would say that the genre has one defining feature separate from other genres, and that is the effect on friendships. I would call it a DPWFYL kind of game. Don't play with friends you like. Or perhaps FIF, friends into foes.

No idea how the MMR works... Play game in high go 17-0-12 on DK, win, next game in normal, go 12-5-17 on necrolyte win, next game in very high, go 5-1-8, win, next game in normal....
anyone have a clue wtf happening?

No clue how MMR works, lately my solo qeue has been normal, despite me always having the best stats in the game and having done well enough in high/very high before. How can you even increase your personal MMR?

The fact your game is in normal/high/v.high isn't your personal MMR - its the average MMR of all players. So in that case, You probably were average MMR on your team in the DK game, high MMR compared to your team in the necro game, then low MMR compared to your team in the next game.
