for example: bkb blocks tide's ult, but not voids
doom's ult disables ALL passives (except for void's bactrack)
There are plenty ulties that don't get blocked by bkb and plenty of passives that are still active after doom

Linkens wasn't originally designed to block most AoE's, though this has changed over time (blocked fissure, for example).

Most ults are blocked by both bkb and linkens. Linkens blocks all single target spells but no aoe spells (ults or not) because that's what it was designed to do. BKB is the weirder one with no pattern to spells that bypass it but the only AoE spell that goes through it that I can think of is chronosphere. Originally these spells were not intended to be designed to bypass Linken's/BKB. The only reason they did was because of the way they were coded. Then they became part of the balance, and Icefrog chose to leave it that way. The same reason why all this buggy stuff in SCBW just became part of the game.

All I know is panda ult goes through Blackhole. Found that out the hard way -_-

And the brewlings are ancient units.

Ya you paid for a bkb to block most ulti, there are about 20 something spells go through bkb. Single target ulti works just like other spell doesnt go through on linken. Of course it was the coding at the beginning but it can be fixed when dota went competitive, since it is fine at this stage so nobody gives a damn (some debate pops up from time to time though in balance forum).

Like the fuck. Getting them on both of your carries is rather bad this early (d2l game I assume) No, it really is fine. The stats are insanely effective for cost either way, and the aura is negligible. You burn through the actives super fast anyway (or at least you should--I've seen Western players be way too stingy with Janggo charges a lot of the time), so as long as the team is coordinated enough to not accidentally pop both actives at the same time (and pro teams should be), it's not a big deal. Around the beginning of this year in DotA 1 when Panda was getting played way more using Phase->Janggo builds rather than the current trend of Arcanes, it was very common to see some combination of CK/Panda/BH with 2 Janggos.
