I barely played the guy back in dota1, but never one to back down for a challenge, I've been picking him up now for dota 2. I played 6 games vs bots just to get a hang of jungle stacking patterns, poof/blink dagger combos, ensnare delay and stuff like that, then jumped right into playing vs others.
So far I've been going mid, starting with 2 tangos, 2 branches, 1 ring of protection and a salve. Rushing tranquil boots, using my second clone to stack hard camp+kill easy camp, rush blink dagger, then dissamble boots into mek + threads, then go bsasilius --> vlads with pipe/ac to finish of.
When I hit 11, got dagger and mek, I start a ganking/pushing spree and try to carry with that. twice it worked, once I couldnt finish at my peak and last game we just got owned.
I must admit this has been one of the funniest dota days just playing this hero, even thought I'm not exactly mindblowingly good or anything. Feel free to give me some tips that might make me better! Honestly I see no reason why you should need Tranquil's on Meepo. Regen isn't all that useful on Meepo because you have the mobility to poof home, heal, and come back out anyway, whereas the extra survivability you can squeeze out of Treads are absolutely critical. Just feels like investing into ring of regen and a ring protection early grants me the stayability to be in lanes or jungles permanently early game without having to take that path back to base. As easy as it is, before 11 it will either lose you a lane or jungle presence, and I feel like buying those two items I will need later regardless prevents that problem. Since I don't really fight all that much before dagger anyways, I dont think threads can keep me alive more than topped of hp from tranq boots does. It's also a cheaper pair of boots, so gets me the dagger earlier for involvement. Atleast those are my reasons to do it, might be completely stupid >< Well you can tranq and disassemble them into vlads later. Treads are really great on meepo, same is vlads and mek
Yes, I wrote that it was part of my reasons to do it. I usually disassemble into treads after blink, so it's mostly for pre level 11ish situations

got bored so started looking at the dotabuff hero graphs meepo still lowest win rate then alch then brood but only 2 days since release
i thought brood would at least break even in win rate but 41 percent so low, after all invisibility=invincibility

Brood requires a very specific team composition to work. I doubt pubs take that into consideration.

Mind giving me a quick example of a comp in which she works?

You basically answered it yourself there. Team needs to be able to handle themselves. Generally need midgame heroes like NS/Panda etc. who can really make teamfights in your favour even if you down a man. Then brood just puts on massive pressure so the enemy has to commit resources to the brood while you were already holding your own when they didn't have to commit. Reason for this is brood needs some space before she can put pressure on since generally you going to not have a fun time in lane.
An example would be iGs teamcomp in the international of TA NS Rubick Lesh Brood. Lots of midgame fighting power and space creation. Team is able to give brood some space so brood in term can give them space. It's all about the space

I don't think it's so much this as it is pubs not understanding the concept of "split pushing". I'm like 1-7 or something on brood because people insist on coming to my lane and just chilling out when they could be doing something on the other side of the map while I split push, but nope, have to take no advantage of our map control what so ever.

Check out iGs games at the International where they use Broodmother, should give you a good idea in terms of team compositions where she excells at.
Broodmother is also not the easiest hero to play. One thing she does very well however is crush the hardlane incredibly well if people don't know how to handle her, this can often snowball in underleveld supports/whatever was on the HARDLANE. But yeah your team needs to handle the game 4v5 a lot.

I think they basically need to handle 4v5 until a point where brood forces the enemy to commit to her or lose buildings.

Winrates do not really tell a big story about balance in many cases, it is comparable to the "Terran needs high apm to be succesfull" -debate and to the general playstyle in public games.
edit: Most players ( even some pros ) think that brood is a decent teamfighter without big items, which is completely untrue(of course there are exceptions); most players rush into teamfights on her while only having an orchid etc. and get destroyed.

Yeh I thought I knew the general idea behind her just not so much the kind of heroes required that allowed her to do her thing.

Just did one of the best game of my life (not in term of personal performance, but in level of entertaintment of the game), and lost because we didn't have enough pushing power to rax their base, lost even while score heavily favored us
If you want to look it, i reccomend to look only after 30 min, then it's teamfights after teamfights, against the stupidity of naga siren https://dotabuff.com/matches/42910334

Yeah, more like this.
Normally it is impossible to stop brood from pushing unless you commit 2+ heroes. That means the rest of the map is now 4n3 for your team. If brood can constantly keep 2+ heroes occupied the remaining enemy team should get steamrolled.
Kind of needs solid communication though.
If the enemy team agrees on a 5n4 while ignoring brood, well, they lose rax faster than they can kill your team. A good example of "You have to fight 4n5 for a while" is when you have hardcarries who barely do anything without farm. Brood is quite the contrary since she can eat most heroes 1n1 for breakfest as long as she does have the levels.

Can someone tell me how the rating system in dota 2 works? How can I find out if I get better?

When people actually pick a 4/5 position support instead of lanes made up of a mix of Hard Agi carries/Mid Heroes.
