![]() How is this match making work? I mean after 3 games(won all of them) I got match with people that have like 500 wins. It doesn't seem fair. Also, there are alot of items you can get outside of the game, are these gonna boost your stats in game?

Also, there are alot of items you can get outside of the game, are these gonna boost your stats in game? it's pretty hazy on the matchmaking, but in general it tries to match you against people of your skill level. when you only have 10 games played it's possible to be fairly off the mark. ie: you could've got really lucky with an amazing team won a ton of games and had good performances and it might think you are better than you are. number of games is fairly irrelevant in judging skill, just because someone has played a lot doesn't mean they're better than you. trust me, there's a lot of morons out there with 500+ ames played lol

I played 6 games vs bots just to get a hang of jungle stacking patterns, poof/blink dagger combos, ensnare delay and stuff like that, then jumped right into playing vs others. So far I've been going mid, starting with 2 tangos, 2 branches, 1 ring of protection and a salve. Rushing tranquil boots, using my second clone to stack hard camp+kill easy camp, rush blink dagger, then dissamble boots into mek + threads, then go bsasilius --> vlads with pipe/ac to finish of. When I hit 11, got dagger and mek, I start a ganking/pushing spree and try to carry with that. twice it worked, once I couldnt finish at my peak and last game we just got owned. I must admit this has been one of the funniest dota days just playing this hero, even thought I'm not exactly mindblowingly good or anything. Feel free to give me some tips that might make me better!

Is there a rating system? If so how do we see what we are rated at? My friends and I continue to play with scrubs, and im just wondering if no matter how many wins we get we will just continue to stay in the same bracket EDIT: My mistake, just read a few posts up and someone asked the same question

Honestly I see no reason why you should need Tranquil's on Meepo. Regen isn't all that useful on Meepo because you have the mobility to poof home, heal, and come back out anyway, whereas the extra survivability you can squeeze out of Treads are absolutely critical.

Spectre's dagger, some orb effects stack/ all buff placers do (skadi stacks with lifesteal on melee as well. Mjolnir/Maelstrom override other orb effects, geminate attack works with orbs on the initial attack) , linkens blocks stuns that are ground targeted, phase boots no longer cancel crit. Those are some of the larger things. For a full list : http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Changes_from_DotA

Just feels like investing into ring of regen and a ring protection early grants me the stayability to be in lanes or jungles permanently early game without having to take that path back to base. As easy as it is, before 11 it will either lose you a lane or jungle presence, and I feel like buying those two items I will need later regardless prevents that problem. Since I don't really fight all that much before dagger anyways, I dont think threads can keep me alive more than topped of hp from tranq boots does. It's also a cheaper pair of boots, so gets me the dagger earlier for involvement. Atleast those are my reasons to do it, might be completely stupid ><
