Meanwhile Solace from PB rq against sing :S I don't think it's Solace himself. When Sing2x checked his Dota profile, he didn't have any clan logos on it. So either PB doesn't have clan logos yet but more obscure teams do (can someone check it out?), or that guy is a fake. i checked it on dotabuff before i posted that, it is solace, he played with demise alot (and of course aui and another pb member). https://dotabuff.com/matches/41594363edit: that gyro game lol he really need early level and good farm to function. Note to myself that hero is not a failed design! Gyro my favorite pubcrushing hero besides Lycan actually.
Do you mostly solo gyro?
My favourite pubstomp weapon is lanaya but it seems she is too popular now in dota2 and i dislike any hero goes mainstream.

lanaya so sick. I laughed my ass off the first time I killed someone with psi blades. :D

it's such a relief when you get to play a hero that's normally pidgeon holed into support solo mid. I just randomed Bane and by some miracle my team didn't pick any mid heroes. Normally i'd go hard support on the easy lane with bane and just end up being a mediocre disable, maybe get a soul ring eventually or something, but going mid it was heaven. I first blooded the pudge at level 1 and snowballed into 5 kills in the first 4 minutes. got up an aghs in good time and just generally had a good game. was fun.

Or the one time that I had the plans for butterfly up and tried to purchase the eaglehorn right before death, but accidentally buying the talisman for which cannot be sold since dead... so takes even longer for eaglehorn.
On side note, thanks for reminding me burning. Had missed watching singsing play. Woot woot
And that's what quickbuy is for! There's also a nice little 'cha-ching' to let you know you can buy something. I tend to spam my quickbuy hotkey before I die It generally buys the most expensive item (not always though, haven't figured out why)

bane is actually one of the most potent mids there is, you can't out harass, and at level 6 it's practically a free kill. i've never really liked bane sidelane at all. much more use getting those fast levels, and shut down mid or gank other lanes. honestly not many heroes better mid imo.

Anyone else get a bit bored of starcraft 2 after the international ended? Before I was hyped about getting in the HotS beta but after the international starcraft just looks a bit uninteresting. I still follow some of the good matches in tournaments here and there but overall it seems like most of the passion I had for watching starcraft moved to dota 2.

Bane has some pretty distinct issues as a mid hero. Most notable are his low autoattack range, lack of AoE spells, and extremely high mana costs early game. Definitely a decent mid hero, but certainly nothing compared to those really oppressive mid heroes like Invoker, Rubick, and QoP.

That actually happened with me, but it was Fighting Games, not SC2.

I actually had to take a break from Dota after watching TI2. Too many Morphling vs AM games lol. If I were Icefrog I would definitely nerf these heroes in the next version of dota. We need some new carries being picked otherwise it gets a bit too stale. The design of AM (turtle and then mass farm jungle with bfury) is just poisonous to entertaining dota games and morphling is just straight up too overpowered.

You do realize that most of the unpicked carries are similarly turtle/late-game oriented and are unpicked because they take too long to come online, right? Void, PA? Turtle and mass jungle farm with BFury--just slower than AM. Alch, PL, Spec? Turtle and mass jungle farm with Radiance--just again slower to come online. Drow, Sniper? HotD + farm ancient stack.
Nerfing AM/Morph isn't going to make the game less stale--its arguable that shifting these slower, even more farmy lategame carries would produce even more stale games (people should still remember 6.6x games dominated by carries like Drow and Medusa that dragged out into horrendously long farm-fests). If anything, it's those carries that need to be buffed/reworked to turn them into more relevant midgame teamfight carries just like Icefrog did with Morphling.

I think he is saying the rise of other carries would be more interesting. I mean Void is a sweet hero with huge teamfight that is completely different to spectre who can literally farm forever and still be in everyfight.
A slight buff to voids mana costs would go a long way imo, although he might not have AM's blink, timewalk can be used to move around the jungle fast. Spectre probablu just needs desolate+dispertion on one skill, with a new move.

Considering if you have a half-decent team and a half-decent carry you CAN shut down the enemy with ease. You just have to play better than them.

Spectre probablu just needs desolate+dispertion on one skill, with a new move. TBH I think Spectre's closer to being there than Void. Void still has the issue that Void still needs his 2nd/3rd major item to be a teamfight presence beyond his ultimate. Spectre's midgame damage potential on the other hand is quite considerable with Ult+Desolate; she's a very powerful midgame teamfighter with some combination of Urn, Aquila, Janggo, Yasha, and Diffusal. Some base stat or mana cost tweaks to smooth out her laning or the transition from midgame items to lategame items (which are probably the most awkward points for a midgame teamfight-build Spectre) could be all that's needed to make her midgame presence strong enough to be a viable carry.

Pretty significant problem with Void is that Rubick stealing his ult is 100%... Unless you somehow get in range without timewalk. Another problem is that his time walk costs too much mana, indeed... Finally, his attack animation could be a bit smoother but I guess the damage balances it out a little bit. He's so powerful late that buffing his early game really might be a problem... Maybe make his rank 1 skills better so that he could spam stats(like make time walk and bash lvl 1 not be shit)

Soloing mid and going carry on dazzle is amazingly fun. It's something I need to do more often.
Also I think all spectre and void need to be very viable picks are some minor buffs, like better base stats and lower mana costs like TheYango said earlier, and maybe also reducing the cooldowns of their ultimates a bit.

I'd rather not see spectre in competitive play, thanks
