OSL has a larger prize pool, draws the bigger crowd, and is the only league where the Golden Mouse is offered. Objectively, that makes it a bigger and more prestigious event.

Beyond that, the OSL is just that much more awesome.

Bisu will prove that he is the master of toss , not Best or Stork . He is doing great job so far except the one with Flash . Idk what he can do against him in final :\

it all depends on midas vs best...
if best wins, he will kick out stork and then, fantasy or flash will win the starleague.

(I mean, bloody hell, just look at the bracket now, even without Jaedong and a lot of others dropping out it's still damned near impossible to judge who will win it all--all biases aside.)

The OSL has historically been harder to win than the OSL. The MSL's system makes it so that if you play one bad day, you're out of the Ro32 and from then on, you're busy trying to avoid getting single eliminated. The OSL system makes it so that you're going to have to be pretty lucky because you round robin in the group stages (in the Ro16, making things even harder to get through a group). Especially with the OSL's new format, it makes it so it favors old players that have made the last OSL rather than any old fart that comes through the door.

Just look at the Ro16 in the MSL and compare it to the former Ro16 in the OSL. THe Ro16 was so stacked this OSL with only one or two players not deserving to be there.

Another measure of difficultly is the amount of times somebody wins a OSL twice in a row - not very many people have won the OSL twice. A lot of people have won the MSL multiple times in a row.

How long have you been following StarCraft?
I think others sufficiently explained why OSL is more prestigious than MSL. If you can't believe that, then I don't really care. Back in the days, MSL was just a sidekick to OSL. It has caught up a lot, but winning an OSL is definitely still considered "bigger" than winning MSL.

might be "considered" bigger, but on what reasons? Consider who was winning OSL titles and who was winning MSL titles:

back-to-back MSL winners were really dominant players like NaDa, iloveoov, savior, while many of the OSL winners were one-hit-wonders like Casy, ggplay, onetime etc.
To me an MSL win shows more than an OSL win. Beside that, i like the MSL format more than the OSL format.
For me: MSL > OSL

but for the majority its not

It doesn't matter if the Golden Mouse is just plastic (I honestly have no idea, though it seems others are saying it's actually gold). The point is that it has prestige. The MSL offers no such prize...even if one were to win the MSL three times, it'd be damn impressive, but in the end it's a statistic. As superficial as it is, NaDa and July have an extra fucking trophy (as gay as it looks) on their shelves as a result of their achievement.

And as for the prize money, I for some reason recall the OSL first prize money being 70mil won, not 40...I could be wrong though. It was fucking like 5 or 6am when they awarded it to him. Someone else please clarify? Hopefully with a photo...I can't seem to find one of him holding up the check.

I guess in the end it really is my opinion, however. If you like the MSL more, and consider players who have won that to a higher standard than the OSL, or if you consider them both equal, then that's fine. That's your opinion.

I think otherwise, and those are my reasons, along with most of what everyone else has said. I'll leave it at that.
