Im so pissed, if Arsenal could only get a decent defensive mid (like Felipe Melo), they would have a legit shot of chasing the title. Now, instead, Fabregas is going to leave and they'll turn into a mid-table team.
edit: yep, wenger just bought two random players ive never heard of from south america.
lol, looks like juve bought Felipe Melo for 20 mln + Marchionni, for a total value of 25 mln. I think it was a bit overpriced but hell, diego and melo makes up for a good midfield next season, I never thought Juve had so many moneys to spend

I really agree with this, when was the last time Arsenal made a big 20million+ purchase? They have as much if not more money than Liverpool/Man U yet nearly all of their purchases have been youth players or bargains.

Arshavin was a big purchase, and maybe Pires as well but other than that not much.. Even Henry was purchased when he was nothing but another French striker trying to make a name for himself.
And Da Silva 20m€ was a bit overpriced too for an unknown player
im a fiorentina supporter and think the Melo sale is good and he's def worth that money cause he's still young. I still remember Arsenal making those shitty bids for him , like 13M the next one was like 13.7M + Senderos loan or something, rofl they have loads of money its like he's scared of buying big dunno why.
Senderos was a huge dissapointment as well which probably is making Wenger even more frugal then before.
Arshavin/Hleb/Eduardo are definitely players who Arsenal purchased when they were at their prime yet none of them besides Arshavin I guess were as sought after as the big names the other European and even English clubs have gotten. Torres, a lot of the Chelsea players, etc.
Hleb was sold and made a profit... so that can't be a bad piece of business, arshavin and eduardo don't really have enough time to prove themselves. Also, arsenal don't really have any money, the same can be said of MU and LIV but they just don't look at their bank balance so the spending is still there.
Nearly all the arsenal fans I speak to think they need a proper CB who can head the ball instead of a DM, which is kind of strange but i can see the point.

He is a coach. If he can't get money he can't buy top players. I doubt he is the only guy to blame.
edit: nevermind maybe i should check the budget of the clubs first :O
pretty sure wenger gets a lot of money every season
I hate people saying that arsenal has loads of money to spend.. Wenger has signed quite a lot in January, Arshavin costs 15M, Vermaeleen around 12M Arsenal built a new stadium, this puts quite a bit on the constraints on the budget, I am sure that Wenger will buy if if he has the money + find a good target
Oh, I forgot Reyes. 20 or 25 M€ wasn't it? And now at Benfica T_T
What's wrong with Benfica?
He's going back to Atletico Madrid prolly.
soon we'll see another rant from wenger about how everyone should be saving money, he does one every transfer season
