yea but don't they already have like 3 defensive mids? FM stands for football manager. Diarra had an awesome season with Portsmouth but this was still a strange transfer.

but Diarra (Current one in RM) is out for the whole season. The only guy who is really going to sit as a DM is Gago, and I guess they want some backup for that. Also, Diarra (Ports) can play in multiple position.

didnt Diarra already went through Chelsea and Arsenal? How did he end up on Portsmouth if he's that good?

I personally believe that was because he is NOT that good. He was playing really good at Portsmouth but it can be just a good shape moment.

yea, but you can't really get any guy who is that good and can play in CL with experience. Although the time Diarra spent in che/ars isn't that great, he did play quite a few game here and there including the CL and when che won the league.

Then got no one. I'm starting to dislike Real Madrid (and perhaps all the other big clubs) more and more. They just keep buying players that play good for a season, half a season or perhaps just three good matches (Drenthe to Madrid) and then just drop them on the bench (or they don't even get to sit there). I hate that Huntelaar went to Real just to replace van Nistelrooy who is injured for half a season. Even the president said that they got him as the 5th (!) striker behind Raul, van Nistelrooy, Higuan (sp?) and Robben. And once again a smal(ler) club looses one of their best players.

Real either nneeds to start transfering stars or growing young players IMO. Transfering in more backup players really isint going to help.
