The king and his adviser wizard sent us to a mountain to obtain a White Dragon Orb from a mountain (there are several of these orbs, each one used to defeat chromatic dragons. Me and my adventuring companion are a bit sketched out by how adamant the wizard was that we bring the orb right back to him so he could get attuned with it. We obtain it (quite an adventure itself) and return. We meet with the wizard and he asks for the orb so he can get attuned and use it to slay the dragon. We disagree and request that we work together and that he teach us to be attuned with it. The group of us go to discuss this with the King. King is like "hmm, yeah, that seems ok. Wizard, can you teach them?" Wizard's like "yeah, sure", walks over to me, and tries to Command me to give the orb to him, but I resisted. This mother fucker messed up right here. (Info - our DM had given my adventuring partner a Rust Bag of Tricks, and we managed to get two brown bears with it. We convinced the guards to let the bears follow us, as they had assisted in obtaining the orb, and we were able to prove they were entirely docile) The two of us + the two bears fucked up the wizard and the handful of guards, but the King escaped. The keep happened to be sitting on the water's edge, and so we repelled out the chamber window, and we're now on rocky terrain with the city behind us and the ocean in front. And we were totally going to cooperate with them too... But see now I also wonder what would have happened if we tried to fight that crazy runed bitch instead of give her the scroll. Would we all have immediately died cause runed bitch + monstrous things + guys we fought anyway = overwhelmed? Is that something Asmo can tell us? ![]() Also thanks for the help Yangers

Who can know such mysteries? ![]()

EDIT: asmo? any reason you picked brass to mirror poison as opposed to Copper (who when oxidized turns green, and would allow some metaphoric comparisons to the green mirror)

I tried to sell him on what I thought was good, but more or less he just picked what he wanted because honestly the Warlock spell/invocation selection and casting rules means by level 5 he'll have swapped all his 1st level spells anyway and can swap all the invocations he has (and will swap at least some of them).

I just try to help him with deciding what things do and what he will think is fun and fit his backstory, and then i say "I'd pick this, but its totally up to you". ^_^ more so i just like keeping tabs on wave being his cheerleader every tuesday.

There's a ton of shit that's super up in the air though, because what's "fun" depends on what direction Asmo takes the campaign (i.e. there's a ton of spells that are really interesting in certain types of campaigns but totally useless in others).

I kind of assumed combat will be the focus for a few sessions as asmo gets used to the DM chair and then as the party gets used to eachother flow into more RP stuff. so in my suggestions i was erring on the side of combat. because warlocks are so fluid in early levels and settle down to rigidity late in life i gave suggestions to survive fights, but any mistakes or unfun abilities can be phased out over time.
