I wasn't around the scene then, but when she first started winning wasn't she the most shy, painfully awkward person ever? Her personality should have been detrimental really

Yes it does. You're no teanager male that's why you don't think so. But i see your point and agree with it (except for the girl part)
But when i see younglings talk about Sc2, they talk scarlett 'cause #Grills. It matters. That's why you know some players like Aphrodite, Barbie etc... and not some masters guy that joined a team as a hope

I think that people got that impression after a Hot_Bid interview; which we know isn't a reliable means of determining one's personality.

VortiX hype was nothing of that VortiX won a Vasacast a little while before his Ro8, and then got clapped by Jjakji. Still nothing close to Nani/Stephano kind of bias. I mean now no one is saying that VortiX is the best foreigner that ever lived and will be so until the end of SC2 of things of this kind Stephano at least managed to back up his hype with some sort of result. Naniwa... I'm not too sure where all that bias came from. He got double gsl ro8's So did Chinro. Easier time period. And jinro is a legend for that I hate it when people bring that up. Everyone was worse I love the icon by the way. One of the few times I can say to people "my icon can beat up your icon." I got my BC icon back earlier today, but it changed again after I got more powers :x would you say that you're overpowered?
I would

Then yes it's obviously foreigners that draw bias, but being Zerg has nothing to do with it, it's mainly a question of personality. (see the fanbase of Snute or VortiX) Snute going to a lot of tournaments compared to Vortix (and anyone really) has a lot to do with that too Hmm I meant that Snute's fanbase is small and non-intolerant compared to the ones of Nani, Idra, Scarlett and Stephano, much like VortiX Oh sorry I misread what you said. Snute's fanbase is a lot less rabid it seems usually, though they were pretty loud when he was beating Flash (but that was justified). I wouldn't call his fanbase small though. And if it's an issue of personality, does Scarlett have much of that or is it just the "girl appeal" She's shy just as the next Korean so don't tell me the bias comes from "personality" ^^ I don't think being a girl has anything to do with it either tho. It's just the foreigner thing imo. I wasn't around the scene then, but when she first started winning wasn't she the most shy, painfully awkward person ever? Her personality should have been detrimental really I think that people got that impression after a Hot_Bid interview; which we know isn't a reliable means of determining one's personality. I mean, even on stage in real interviews she was the "one word answers" type and was barely audible Yeah but she changed, she said it herself in interviews. Also being unnaturaly shy is "personality". It's answering like a machine and not showing emotion that is considered "faceless".

Speaking of Scarlett fans complaining about imbalance, someone just posted an actually well thought out and accurate criticism in her fanclub. Refreshing to see.

People were hyping Vortix to win WCS EU in season 1... That is pretty biased. Just because he was a foreigner that beat some Koreans. The same happened with Bunny in season 3. Yeah but we're talking about heavy bias, the kind of bias that makes people say that their favorite player, even if he's retired, is still at a top-foreigner level, or that he could come back best foreigner in two weeks, or that BM behavior is OK for him since he's the best foreigner, or that this specific MU/unit is imba just because the player doesn't like it, etc...
