Its time for the 2013 edition of the "Lake Charles Scion e-Sports Thanksgiving Open"
This is the third year of the tournament and this year's edition features Starcraft 2: HotS
The main tournament will be a simple single elimination tournament with up to 48 players. The first three rounds will be played over Battle.net between November 1st and November 16th and the Round of 16 through the Grand Final will be played live on December 14th, 2013 starting at 1:00PM CST at Lake Charles Toyota Scion in Lake Charles, LA. The prize pool for the pro tournament will be approximately $5,000 USD. We're going to have a professionally produced live stream with big name professional casters on site, and the word from our friends at TeSPA is there may be some big name pro players in the ring too.
To participate you must be at least 16 years of age (under 18 requires parent/guardian consent) and have a unique Battle.net ID. No employees of Lake Charles Toyota Scion, Toyota Motor Sales USA, or Blizzard Entertainment will be allowed to participate in the Pro tournament. Registration opens September 1st.
There will also be an amateur tournament of up to 32 players running concurrently with the Pro tournament. The amateur tournament will be played entirely onsite at Lake Charles Toyota Scion, starting at 1:00PM CST.

Avilo,
While registration is not officially open yet we are obviously sensitive to the fact that players need to make plans to attend. Registration opens September 1st, but if you already know you definitely want to attend go ahead and send us an email at esports@tarverautomotive.com and we will hold a spot for you. Be sure to include your battle.net ID and a good method of contact.
Thanks! We're glad to have you on board!

Hey ya'll don't forget to go join the Facebook event, that's the first place all the new info and updates go.
Thanks

Pretty sure etarv mis-spoke... registration opens 1 September... Early registration deadline is 1 October. Final registration deadline is 31 October. It says in the rules that registering before 1 October guarantees you a spot, regardless of your league. After that, lower league players will be bumped for grandmasters, then masters, etc. once the rest of the field starts to fill up.

There was a great question asked on the Facebook about how we are going to get people to come to the live event in addition to just playing online. Our intention is to get the best players, and produce an awesome live event thats worth traveling in for.
One thing we learned from our tournament last year is the best way to get gamers out to our place is to give the gamers what they want! (And also free pizza... done!)
So lets hear it SC2 community, what do you want? Anybody with ideas you would like to see put into our event, or with something you know has worked well (or been a disaster) at other community events, please let us know here on forum or on the Facebook.
