and in today's days and age the N-word should not bring about a conflict of the past.
The word has more connotations than a simple embodiment of a conflict in the past. This word has been extensively throughout generations and it has its own definition. If it is defined as something detrimental to a race, then it's obvious its intentions are poor.
If we are playing a game and I playfully call you a nigger, bitch, etc. The intention of the word is to demean you playfully to emphasize how competitive I am currently with you. The scenario my friend and I are in is recognizable and thus when I insult him, he knows my intentions are fine and since none of us are African-American, we know the demeaning effect is less than the definition.
Okay now use that with a group of strangers watching. They know you're not being racist, but they also know that you're throwing around the word publicly with little to no care.
Destiny has all rights to use whatever language he wants. How we interpret the scenario is up to us. We can assume he's not racist, but we can also assume that he pays little attention to the choice of words he wants to use to express himself.
It's not a question of intelligence or being good at improv. Scrabble, it's just how one wants to be perceived by others and what one wants from others. If I want to maintain my viewers, I would usually avoid racist slurs.
If I am confident that my viewers don't care, then I won't care and thus won't use the N-word.
Case fucking closed. Such a dead horse topic.
