One player that caught my eyes once more.... GROUP 5, BoxeR!!!!!!
And also not so important (and could careless) in group 8 where IdrA is in..
Also... Mamga retired???? I guess after all that trash talk from the last MSL and then got beaten like no tomorrow, he has officially walk thru shame...
Seriously it's the "easiest" group possible for Idra considering how many great pros are in there. He better win some games, he should win some. Beating shuttle who loses a lot to terran would be pretty cool already and then it's all arguably easier from there until Really.

Yes, OnGameNet and MBCGame broadcast their prelims differently. Personally I like the OGN Prelims much better, but OGN pretty much always trumps anything MBC does.

OGN is superior to MBC in most ways (tournament prestige, live streams) but I really do prefer MBC's commentating team - especially Nal_rA! They seem much more enthusiastic and "young" than the OGN commentators.

I sort of prefer OGN's commentators more, their views are more in-depth, whereas MBC commentators are mostly screaming and very, very obvious stuff. "Oh, now the probe is moving out." "Oh, one tank is out." I'll say like half of what they say are made up of such stuff... which is sometimes annoying.
Any news on whether they're starting early or what? Morning groups aren't slated to start until 14:00, right? Really anxious to see boxer and the great white hope, but I can't watch for awhile yet.

haha yes, I suppose if I could actually understand Korean I might have a different opinion. Considering I don't, though, I actually prefer MBC's craziness over OGN's in-depth analysis. Screaming and shouting unit names I can totally follow, but strategy analysis...that's behind the language barrier.

They're probably going to broadcast the games in that group would be my guess. Can't think of another good reason for them to not be playing/not release results yet.
Not to mention that YoonJoong's T losses are coming from good terrans like Mind and Hiya. Idra's results seem good to me, hopefully he keep it up and gets more chances to play.

*sigh*, BeSt... You better make it out this time.
Not making the semis of GOM S1?
Hmm, never knew that...
Tsk, tsk. This shows that people are more knowledgeable about progamers they like. You link Shuttle to his games vs Best and I link it with his series against Jaedong. But yeah, taking a game off Shuttle is seriously impressive.

YoonJoong is aka Shuttle. Shuttle's an A-team member and make the semi-finals in the first GOM. I'd call going 1-2 vs him pretty impressive.
Let's check his vT losses: Canata, HiYa, Mind (x3), Sea, Leta (x2), Mong (x2), go.go, Boxer, Flash and Canta. With wins vs Darkelf, Ruby, Hiya (x2) and Mind. Oh yeah, obviously a horrible PvT player.

hmmm?
you can't kinda be A-team. He obviously is. He got all those proleague appearances precisely because he is A-team. If you want to make the case Idra took a game off a slumping a-teamer, you're right, but hes still an A-teamer.
on A-team != A-class player.

Yes and yes, provided people knew what they were talking about when it happened. The confusing bit is I think he was playing as inyeon[3.33], a completely different clan.
This is the kid that, in his first TV game, had to face jaedong in WL the night before jaedong had a huge match, so he got 5-pooled and completely run over. His expression was absolutely priceless.
Nice to see that Idra at least took a game against YoonJoong. As some people has pointed out, YoonJoong has beaten Hiya (who has awesome TvP) 2-0, so Idra should not be ashamed of his performance.

That MBCGame bracket has Favian listed as a Protoss player - is that a mistake by them or is TLPD wrong? Or perhaps it's a different player with the same name that isn't in TLPD?

No it doesnt? BestGod's Korean name is: 김민제 while Shuttle's is: 김윤중. They have shuttle's name there.

Personal opinion, but I think they are also somewhat 'practicing' when playing in league matches. So it's a give-and-take situation?

Is it ok for you to tell us which game you won? If you took down an A team Protoss on Medusa, that'd be pretty sick. Even Destination would be impressive, to be honest. I know it seems a little hollow, but congrats on those 2-1s, they beat the hell out of 2-0's.

Well even if that's the case, how much of a game day is spent not playing games due to travel, prep, etc? Plus the whole not practicing for the specific event/matchup/player thing. That doesn't really make sense to me.

Well that's also a point I guess, since when they practice, they'll practice for a certain matchup/style, whereas in broadcasted matches, that may be impossible to play a certain style throughout the practice matches. Physical and mental factors may count as well.

Yeah he lost that one; don't think it was official game, no. He also lost that epic TvP vs JF 2(?) seasons or so ago on Troy from ICCup where he went medic blind. I don't think I've ever seen him do that and win, actually. Not that it really matters who eliminates who, we all know who wins when a move like that is pulled off.
That base lift was one of the greatest things ever. Everybody remembers that, but nobody remembers yellow winning. Story of Yellow's career, actually...

Fixed. It was 14:00/17:00/20:00 last prelims, so I just copied that from the thread. Couldn't find it anywhere to confirm though. Kinda sucks it's pushed back - I'm gonna have to hit the hay here soon.
Ah, 35 minutes to go!!
Can't wait to see how it goes, prelims sometimes produce interesting matches I remember that long ass PvZ on Troy for one of the OSL prelims. Would have loved an entire game cast

Just noticed, no protoss from morning groups made it into MSL. 5 Terran 3 Zerg advanced. No idea on the afternoon and evening groups, but with already 16 Terrans, this seems like it could be a Terran-dominated season..?
hyvaa has beaten some A zerg. Zero, Luxury. Also Paino. So either hyvaa has totally failed to practice since, or this GanZi guy has a lot of potential.

Hmm, possible, although I don't remember seeing it. Pretty sure that would have been before I got into BW (though not long before) so I've either forgotten it/never saw it. Only Boxer vs Didi8 game I halfway remember was the one on Legacy of Char, but I don't think that was it.
On a more on-topic note, looks like I'm running behind on every result I post, so I think I'll leave it to those quicker on the draw (I don't recognize most of the names, so TLPD's kicking my ass). Cheers, guys!

Keep truckin Rostam, you're translating faster than I can anyways at this late hour. I'm gonna stay around for the end of these afternoon groups, then I'm gonna have to leave. I'll keep the OP updated until then.
These tiers are probably completely wrong but meh. God tier: Jaedong, Bisu, Flash Top tier: fantasy, iris, by.hero High tier: yellow, free, sea, Hwasin, Much, Canata Middle tier: The other 12 people
I would say, "all those 12 players are probably going to make it", but the chance of surviving seems like it has a lot to do with whether or not they can dodge the top players.
If the player they play are random, someone good like iris can easily get eliminated if they hit Jaedong and Bisu for instance.
Only two players from the previous MSL can land in the same group with each other scwizard, so Iris doesn't have to worry about being in a group with both Jaedong/Bisu.

But I thought they were all from the previous MSL, that's why they were all seeded for survivor.
Hmm, also does that means 12 people from the prelims are guaranteed to advance?

MST Groups Work like so: 2 players out from previous MSL 2 players in from prelims
No one is guaranteed an advance, all I was saying is that it's impossible to have more than 2 of the seeded players in the same MST group.

you need afreeca player and tor and proxifier running a korean proxy, theres a couple guides using Tor just use search
The maps are from the tail end of the last MSL, and considering how many zerg there were then I'd say that the maps are probably responsible for Zerg over Protoss.
Shines TvP and TvT are pretty solid, not to suprising to beat Best, especially considering Best's level of play. Tis a shame casy couldnt go through 2 protoss players, considering the maps especially.
BeSt goes out to the KTF pick up, Shine? Looks like practice with Flash (and KTF's $) is paying off. Also, lol @ a player named Britney in group 4, who needs to get in touch with Spear and create the best 2v2 team ever.

Poor protoss, lol. If you check tlpd, outside of obvious top 6 P (with best sucking hard), there are hordes of terran and zergs after that and like 2-3 protoss in the next top 30. Protoss as a race is doing absolutely terrible.
geumchi will have a tough group with skyhigh, mujuk has to be the favorite in 23 (sorry reach fans), rock is a master of qualifiers + has an easy group, movie will have to get through baby i'm sure, and pusan has a pretty good group draw as well

Some of these results are mindboggling. I went to this briefly after work and there were a few players sitting outside looking crushed. well when results are this skewed towards one race theres not much it can be besides maps or some kind of revolutionary strategy, or a massive coincidence.
Ok guys, if Reach is the only fucking protoss from all 25 groups who advance, then all the other protoss fanboys have to accept that the Mantoss is the only true protoss.

I guess Zergs learned how to deal with Protoss players like they used to do. Perhaps maps are pretty good vs terrans overall.
What I'm hoping for is that a few names out of this huge pool of Zerg come out as really strong players to add to the ranks. Last year, you could probably count the number of really good Zerg players on one hand, but I'm starting to see a bunch rise up.
Idra is showing clear statistical improvement. He's losing 2-1 now instead of 2-0 Pretty soon he might start getting that extra very important little number and we might see him on TV , past the 128th round even
His opponent this time was actually pretty damn good. The fact that he took a game(although I don't know the details but sense its idra im guessing it was standard) is promising.

This sucks for Savior though, as ZvZ is probably his worst matchup right now.
Well, it's going to be virtually irrelevant since most of the Zergs who qualified are a cut below the Terran and Protoss qualifiers so we'll probably end up with a fairly even split among the 8 players that get out of this group of 24.
Also, current Savior is one of those players who is a heavy favorite in ZvZ against lesser players, and a big underdog in ZvZ against better players. Every Zerg that's qualified today is probably still an underdog against the Maestro, with the exception of Effort, ironically.

His series vs Zero was painful to watch. On the other hand, his games vs P and T lately show promise. Hence my statement.
Also, ZvZ is really volatile matchup, so it just feels like it'd be better if it were ZvP or ZvT.
And yeah, I know that lots of these zergs will get raped next round, but undoubtedly there will be MORE zergs because of this, just depends on how many.

That would be sad for new generation players, showing that they haven't improved.

I was also the Only person who thought fantasy would 3:0 Bisu. (That I know of)
congraulations, nostradamus.
i don't think there's much debate that skyhigh was the heavy favorite here. rooting for him in this match is a bit like rooting for goliath over david. that said, i like skyhigh and i'm not sad he won, though it'd be nice to see more old players making a comeback
Wow, protoss got destroyed. They had medusa, byzantium, and destination is kind of decent winnable map. I would expect such results only from bo3 on map like rh3 exclusively.
I was more disappointed with July getting knocked out early. July has been playing really well these days, which can not be said of these other oldies, like yellow or boxer or what-have-you.
Also, anyone knows if tossgirl tossed another chair or sign or something when she lost?
I wonder how the 9 protoss in survivor will fare. If Bisu doesn't make it then no one will heh.
Also this shows KTF really deserved the winners league, it just so happens they ran into Jaedong at a bad time. Flash deserves a win against Jaedong so much more than Skyhigh does.

None of them deserved the win, cuz the map is exceptionally imbalaced. But yeah, Flash winning would make more sense. But on the other hand Skyhigh totally exposed OZ as a crappy team aside from their ace, maybe it will affect the team somehow, roster changes / players training dedication.

and im afraid map makers will try to " balance" again and make imba maps for z.
I'm already able to see it. 3-player map with a neutral building blocking you from your nat, a cliff behind your main, a gasless nat and a far-away third base.

just another question, do all progamers get to participate in these preliminaries?
All the progamers that aren't already seeded into the MST or MSL are able to play. They may opt to not play for whatever reason, but they're all eligible.
Movie/EffOrt/sKyHigh rising! CJ's next generation fighting! Can't wait to see them in their respective MST groups.

Somehow I can still see Jaedong winning on a map like this.
Boxer, Reach, Yellow, Anytime, and to a lesser extent, Tossgirl. I was rooting for at least one of them to pass through, but alas...my heart was broken...
Sucks that Saint lost in the final match and that Pusan got knocked out by a nobody. But I'm glad Hyun took out Mind and I'm really suprised that Crazy-Hydra owned his group like that wow.

This has been an amazing offline qualifiers!!! Effort, Skyhigh and Movie winning... The swarm owning it... The Protoss massacre... The all-Z afternoon group... Just awesome!!!

BOXER ALMOST FUCKING MADE IT. FUCKING GANZI backho..almost got there who the fuck is Peace? Casy loses to another toss By.Great loses to crazy-hydra (i'm counting on you to win it all man) 910 beat Anytime..>.< Clay beat PuSan Oversky & IdRa...:O ROCK AND REACH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thezerg..and yellow
oh yea, it is a success that rumble and soo qualified, forgot that. So it looks like there was a possibility of 4 SKT zergs passing. 2 others lost in final games.
This doesn't make any sense. I thought Destination, Byzantium 2, and Medusa were all pretty balanced ZvP. And Medusa at least is really skewed towards Protoss. How come there aren't any protoss?
Wow. 20 zergs, 19 terrans and 9 protoss. Besides the ridiculous amount of potential ZvZ, I don't give a damn about any of the qualifiers, except maybe GGplay and Lomo. Definitely the wrong people qualifying. Can't say I'm looking forward to this.
NOOOOOOO BACKHO :S On another note, was pretty surprised when I got hom, clicked on afternoon winners and bam only red -.- Sure I'm a zerg fan, but only vs other races, ava is pretty underwhelming to me most of the time. Hopefully most bad zergs go out early in the rounds so we get more racially balanced brackets later on.
LOL hahaha Pure was the only toss to make it ;D Bearly got in too lol. I didnt think any got in as I was looking at the results. He's gonna get eliminated sooner or later though.

Yes CJ trio!!! Noooo July, Anytime, Boxer, Reach, Yellow..........bleh........ Looks like Jaedong's going to be ripping a whole bunch of freshly hatched zergs in this MSL.

I was looking at them and saw that game 10 is set 3 of by.great vs Crazy-Hydra, and the video is 24 min length. Was this game good? It's a 20+ min ZvZ...
it's Great vs Sz.Hungry (Protoss), Hungry is a recent addition to WeMade. I think he did alright considering this was his first match as an official pro, hopefully he can show more in the future :O

Yeah, sorry about that... I just completely misread the description...
Just to let you guys know, the commentators were saying that they needed to get the permissions from the teams to broadcast the offline preliminary matches, so even if we wanted to watch specific matches, they could not broadcast some.

mediocre shuttle harass means it didnt really do much and i said i played sloppy cuz i didnt have much time to prep after gom, not because of concentration
