These tie-breakers are heart wrenching for me. I love all 3 of these players.

Yea, well, it was the group of death that had more titles than the other 3 put together, so of course all the players deserve to be here.
I like the 12:00 Korean time. It's very convenient PST.

To think of it, the other groups have a total of 2 titles.
GGplay and Mind.

Any predictions? July has quite the impeccable PvZ XD
|
I hope to see Much comes out of this group; I want to see more of his scrappy, cheesy, awesome play! He's the reason I'm excited to watch this.
|
hope bisu makes this a quick 2-0
|
Ez for the PvZ of July =$
|
These matches should be good. Interesting maps and an awesome line-up. I hope Bisu pulls through but something tells me he will fall short...
|
I dunno, predicting these are really hard. The maps are bad for July, and as Plexa said, if a second round is needed July will have an advantage because he got though the first round on disadvantageous maps.
Truthfully, all of them could go 2-0. And all of them could go 0-2.

This looks exciting. I guess I'm hoping for July to advance, although some of much's recent builds have been sick. Hmmm. I wish they held all of their games at this time- that would make it much easier for met to watch.

plasma's a bad map for Z?

July will have a better chance imo the less preperation that much and bisu have.

I'm so glad there's no liquibet for this.

Hoping for a 2:0 for Bisu's sake, but I would not be surprised if Much pulls through.

July trying to sneak lings in through the min patches at the temple

is there a way to make the link full screen?

I'm just getting intermittant streaming here. But it looks like July went for zerglings before 2nd hatch and has snuck 2 zerglings through the back temple thing into Bisu's base. 1 probe down.

Don't think so...
|
A couple of zerglings do pretty decent harassing. Bisu has a stargate up, making a corsair.
|
July gathered troops in front of Bisu natural, trying to break the front
|
bisu is getting it taken to him
|
United States17042 Posts
July is showing off some good hydra micro- about a control for july, 2 cannons left, 2 cannons warping. Bisu needs to build a new forge to build more cannons- just got one up in his main >.>
|
hydralisks take down the forge at the front door, zealots probes and cannons holding them at bay
|
oooh nice!! Bisu uses fake forge to prevent other cannons from going down.
|
bisu SURVIVES a hydra push
|
United States17042 Posts
3 cannons, 1 more warping in. 4 zeals at front, 2 sairs for bisu. July is at... about 6 hydra at front, about 10 breaking back entrance (pyrmid)
|

Right click and click zoom and full screen.

Does anyone know how many stacked, up-armored temples there are? >_>
|
Bisu is holding, barely. July teching to lair.
|
Hah, I never realized there were multiple temples on that ramp.
|
How many temples do they have stacked there?
|
United States17042 Posts
July is teching to lurker- already has lair tech. Bisu is still scouting with sairs, about a control of zeals (not sure if they have speed)
|
wow, the temple is invincible
|
It's above 3, certainly. Lings killed one, hydras killed one, killing another now... Whoops, here comes the +1 speed push >_>
... Which July pwns, of course.
|
At least two have been destroyed so far, could be more.
|
you can tell that july is very crisp, his decision making, macro, everything. He has medusa zvp down to a t.
|
SPEEEEDLOTS
oh shit htey get shredded by nice hydra dance
|
... Another temple goes down.
|
United States17042 Posts
about 1.5 control of zeal against about 12 hydra and 2 lurk. July is showing off some good control against the 6 zeals remaining, and is using the 2 lurkers ot hold off reinforcements.
|
Wow, it's the July timing again. The same one he used against Much, except without the cannon rush. Seems to be very effective because templar feel kind of late.
Hydra seem like an idea unit to break temples, though. They do a lot of damage.
|
Few drones go down for July, but he's stabilizing.

United States17042 Posts
the invincible temple is finallly down, although a dt is killling units as they go up the ramp that the temple was at. About 1.5 comtrol of hydra and 1 lurk against 4 cannons? bisu sees the threat and moves all of his units to defend. And JULY GG's after his backdoor atk breaks down and fails
|
WHY DOESNT HE JUST PLAY STRAIGHT UP :[
|
|
|
|
|
how many temples are stacked on that? holy shit.
|
i don't really get it though, why'd july give in so soon
|
I didnt even catch the gg--- I was looking back here. My god that came..unexpectedly. I can understand why though, it was two base to two base, he cut drones for his push. Still, I expected July to go tooth and nail- and win.
But I'm happy.

July had like 12 drones back at his base, his lurkers died, and his hydras were trapped in a corner.
No chance for him to win. So he GGs.
|
I think he sacrificed economy to get that timing push, once he realize it wont work against Bisu he is screwed in the long term.
|
wtf was that?!
couldn't july have played on and regroup troops with OL?????
|
His economy was terrible and he was relying on his backdoor break to do major damage but it got repelled easily.
|
Because he went all in and it failed, and bisu was ahead after his dt's were out. Man this stream is baller compared to the normal daum stream.

He's known for being really agressive and having pretty good small unit control (as his strengths)

Now beat that Much chump, and go on and win both the OSL and MSL and get back where u belong Bisu!!

Destroying the temple while BISU knows that is not a wise choice. Why didnot he switch to luker after the very first failure of mass hyd
|
United States17042 Posts
This should be much's "prepared" game. Let's see what he can come up with. Good thing bisu's pvp isn't amazing. And much probably used up all of his awsome zvp on his last game against july
|
Because he was depending on the mass hydra to break his ramp in the first place, after that the game was over unless he did something, and he wasn't going to break the front...

July lost becuase his timing push didn't work though. The timing pushes are really exciting when they work, but when they don't, they lose like july did. HIs was especially all in as well, which ended up not working in his favor
|
My take is that Bisu has defended well, and that July was way too invested in that push that didn't work.
There was a short 2 seconds where they showed the line of cannons on the ramp that goes to the back of the base. Seeing it made it pretty obvious Bisu was ahead, while July's lings were still pounding on the temples.

Probably not enough econ- when his timing break failed july was in a lot of trouble. Lurkers require a lot of gas.
|
I wonder if protoss has any strong timing pushes too, other than the +1 zlot rush. I would want to play all my MU's centered around aggressive timings. Would appreciate it if anyone makes a guide :D.

So much pressure was put to the defender, and the line that separated the winner for the loser was hair-thin. It makes things more interesting for both the viewers and the players playing them (you gotta admit, if you are in that game whether you are the aggressor or the defender you would be sweating your balls to the walls the whole time!).

Bisu mannered Much. It didn't seem especially effective, though.

Much with semi-contain. 2 zealots, 4 goons. Bisu has gone observatory. Much building robo support bay before observatory.

Much moving out! ~8 goons, 2 zealots, and 1 reaver in shuttle. Bisu reatreating, has his own reaver in shuttle.
Bisu with superior goon numbers, drives off Much.

bisu is reaver hrass with 1- got like 4-6 probes with first shot.

Bisu reaver drops much, Much loses ~6,7 probes.

Bisu gets 2nd reaver up. Engages with Much again. Much loses all but 2 goons and reaver. Bisu still has 6 goons left. Moves out to Much's base.
Reaver drop by Bisu!
|
Looks like in the war of 2 gate reavers, Bisu won. He threw up a third gate before his expo, an interesting counter to the 2 gate reavers. And Much tried to Expo, but now has to cancel it. I don't know if Bisu's actually expanded though.
And Much loses a lot of probes.
|
BISU IS BACK MOTHER FUCKERS
im way ahead of you guys much is trying to harrass bisu with reavers

6-ish probes lost by Much. Bisu now containing in Much's natural with 6 goons, 2 reavers.
Much going to reaver drop Bisu...

much had to cancel his expo, while bisu looks likehe's going to keep his. Much moves out with 1 reaver, 1 shuttle. He needs to do damage with it, but it looks like bisu has 4 goons to protect against reaver harass. We'll see if much decides to try it anyway

Bisu's expo is up and he has goons awaiting Much's reaver harass. It looks over.

After having the toughest of all groups Bisu now is stuck with arguably still the Best PvP in the world (best yet has to win stork in anything that matters before he can fully claim the title) after he had to practice lots of PvZ's for July... ouch... just ouch ^^ As nice as this OSL was for SKT1 now, only Midas or Best makes one sure Ro4 SKT1 member... Bisu probably has 30-40% to make it, Fantasy will have a tough time vs Mind as well.. ;;

Yeah...Best does not have to beat Stork in order to claim that title. Stork was playing lackluster pvp for months now- he barely beat Backho for example. You don't need to directly defeat the old beast in order to be declared the new one.
Anyways, predictions:
Fantasy>Mind 60/70% chance Flash> GGplay 99.99999999% chance Midas> Best 55% chance Stork< Bisu 40% chance [yes I am predicting Bisu will win even though I admit he probably wont!]
|
Actually think that it would be kinda cool to see ggplay upset flash. GGplay has an exciting style he's just never been jesus zerg.
|
I think Flash vs GGplay will be interesting. Flash has lost a couple of recent TvZ's, I wanna see how he matches up in a BO series against a Zerg.

GGplay beat flash in the semifinals in his epic zvt run during his osl win. It was a pretty exciting series that went the full 5 games. I hope to see a repeat. (I think that was when flash got owned by stork in the 3rd place match, but he is a hell of a lot better now).

Sigh... Much can't seem to handle the best PvPers, - Best,Stork,Bisu. =( Grandpa~~~ cmon. I believe in next time for Much.
Midas vs Best -_-;; Sick, puke, vomit, barf, gag, balrehalwhgfldfghahgl;j. WHY SO EARLY. I can't believe I have to choose between one. .... ..... omg, tragedy. Sigh.. my heart is heavy. I.. do I really have to go against Midas?? ... O T1, the tragedy. Who is SKTT1's Best??
I want GGplay to beat Flash, GGplay made it past another ro16 and he really needs to sharpen up and show that he deserved that trade off to CJ -_-;; I am hoping for some nice old form from our ex-champion. And fuck KTF players, KTF is such an uninspiring team. Represent CJ and Zerg well GGplay, REPRESENT REPRESENT!!!
Bisu vs Stork.. Classic, fun, we'll see who comes out on top this time. I am hoping for SKT1 obv - -;; but no one doubts either players ability to win vs anyone in PvP... so that's cool.
Fantasy vs Mind... Revenge for Nada?!! or Revenge for chzing Midas? This will be fun with both players playing what I assume is their forte match up. But more and more SKT1 is good for me~~
|
Flash please rape his GGass for revenge (couple OSL ago).
|
Dang it, I don't want either Midas or BeSt to lose. :[

Yea, I remember that third place match. If I remember the exact wording of the news post, it was something along the lines of "Flash sucks against carriers". Look how he's grown.
GGplay has been playing considerably worse since then though. We can hope though.

god ggplay v flash looks like such a miss match and hes the only zerg , its going to be an incomprehensible rape i strongly advise 4 pool every game

Fantasy > Mind (50/50 I'd go with Fantasy cause I dont like Mind)
Flash > GGplay (Flash's been too shaky lately but GGplay's been even worse)
Best > Midas (Midas is playing great atm but not enough to stop Best)
Bisu > Stork (No more silvers for you Mr, he's the favourite but who cares, he's done anyway)
it's Bo3 right?

why are all july fan-boys crying about tushin going all-in? when was the last time july teched to hive in a ZvP game? Well I think it was game3 in the finals vs BeSt but still his style is so agressive in the early to mid game, he is always trying to finish off the toss before he gets his HTs. Thou july mastered this strat to perfection I think he is extremely predictable, there so many other ways to play this MU and a S-class player like july should try to be more...clever. And as for the Bisu vs Stork encounter , damn I really cant wait, I think whoever wins will become the clear favorite for the title... ah shit, BeSt's PvP

|
Nice job Bisu, your the men !! :D
|
BISU YEAHHHHHH ! Whaooo these scrubs cant do nothing to u ! But ure next match will be so hard ! If u can go through Stork u could claim the title

do you remember GGPlay going through Hwasin Flash and Iris to win an OSL? probably one of the most impressive ZvT run in OSL history (of course, Savior's Midas - Iris - Nada is up there)
|
Random question: Could someone point me or let me know of this OSL bracket was determined? Was it a group selection again like the last ones, or did Incruit want high ratings early by putting Flash, Bisu, July, and Much in the same group?
Thanks
|
Hot_Bid, GGPlay won't beat Flash. He's looked so bad lately and Flash is playing (kinda) brilliant TvZ. And then theres the maps...
If he wins, you get +3 points at life.
|
damn bisu vs stork is going to be haaawt!!
good luck to everyone!

Everyone calling out a complete rape from Flash vs GGplay must already have forgotten about the way the odds were stacked when Flash went up against Luxury last OSL.
How did that end? Say again? 0-2?
edit: Remember, this is the guy who brought you one of the best OSL Finals in memory, crowned with his game 5 against Iris. Don't diss GGplay just yet!

At the time when Luxury beat Flash 2-0, Luxury was almost up there with Jaedong in ZvT. Even then, GGplay is not even close to the level of skill of those 2 zerg players. Flash lost because his zerg opponent gotten a lot better at ZvT. Did GGplay's got better? His recent ZvT shows otherwise. Not to mention these maps aren't very good ZvT. However, GGplay's best chance is to kill off Flash before his macro kicks in.
|
I was suprise seeing July doing an allin in sudden death matchup. I thought his zvp and the zerg trend has improved enough to beat Bisu straightup. I guess July wasn't confident in his own skill to beat Bisu in a long game.
Hopefully Bisu will finally win an OSL title.
|
I think Bisu sort of forced July to do the all in with his well defended choke. Unless you are talking about the 9-pool opening to begin with.

just an observation- in both game Bisu played rather safe and passive and let his opponents make their first step. In the first game he pretty much predicted the hole scenario of the game and put down like 3 cannons at his choke even without scouting the 2 hatch hydra tech. In game 2 much was way to...dunno nervous perhaps and went for an attack without scouting with an obs first, so he pretty much didnt knew what bisu was having. The way the Revolutionist played the games reminds me of Flash

Hopefully Bisu will finally win an OSL title. I am pretty sure it has nothing at all to do with julys confidence, on the contrary his confidence in big macro zvps should be great considering his track record in games like that. I think he plays the game the way he does because he enjoys it, there is a reason why he has won 3 OSLs over such a long time frame. And I would guess that is because he still thinks it is a whole lot of fun to micro zerglings.

I'm a dumbfuck.
And I fail.
Edit #n: uhh, I guess this post kinda looks bad here so I should post something contributing...
I really hope Bisu can win against Stork now in the Ro8, it's been forever that I kept sticking to him, he really, really, really should come back now! It's your time Kim Taek Yong!

The bad thing is that ggplay's been pretty bad lately. To beat Flash you need much more than this. Don't mess out Luxury who had (and still has) a pretty solid and one of the strongest zvt around. Ggplay's zvt was good and now is no more than mediocre. Flash is still top notch player with a deadly tvz.
The result is pretty clear - ggplay will be smashed like a bug. Actually I'd like him winning but I simply dont see it happening.

Wow Bisu has won a game vs a Zerg... That hasn't happaned a lot lately Hope we gets a bit further in his groups then before...

Actually, it's interesting, because against Much Bisu went 3 gate goon/reaver, as opposed to the 2 gate goon/reaver. I don't know whether he chose to throw that gate down blindly or what but he won because of his unusual b/o choice.
