fOrGG is on an amazing run right now and his stats against P are simply killer. Kal will have a very hard time here. fOrGG will also be prominent on Sunday when he is matched against Savior.

well forgg's tvp is about macro and timing. They've been absolutely killer since all the way back in 2006 and nothing's changed about that, aside from clearly deliberate inclinations towards using more "strategy" and early game micro over the last 6-12 months (which I am confident is becuase the coach/teammates are trying to get him to fix his sometimes atrocious micro abilities).
Kal is actually probably one of the better opponents to match up to him in terms of style though. Forgg is most vulnerable when his timings are set back due to economic damage early, and Kal tends to play a more tricky and shuttle-play style overall. Forgg did overcome Jangbi's inhumane attack on his eco during PL grandfinals, but on the other hand turned over like a dog to some toss on zodiac when faced with eco damage -> carriers. We'll see if the super-dumb forgg or the rather cunning one shows up today.

Kal has a zealot out that is attacking a bunker in his base. 2 gates and core now for him while fOrGG is engineering his earlygame push.
Dual machine shop, so we might see some heavy vulture upgrades early or a massive tank contingent.

Tanks it is for fOrGG. Kal is still clueless, but he is getting a citadel to fend off early aggression.
Kal sends up a goon to scout. 3 tanks out for fOrGG and dual upgrades spinning. I suppose he will be upgrading vultures and reinforcing his Tanks with that.
Kal going straight for Templar Archives -> Stargate.
Tanks and Vultures heading down. Kal has 4 goons / 1 zeal.

Kal fends off some vultures without major losses, but the three tanks spell doom for him. Tanks siege up near his tunnel ridge, but the 2nd DT makes it through and kills a tank.
Kal building a pylon wallin! fOrGG has the high ground and is shelling it with his two remaining tanks. The first scan barely took out the first DT that made it through. Kal is on the defensive.

Scout is owning the SCVs building the turret.
Turret completes, SCV repairs and Scout is driven away. Kal's mainbase is littered with mines now as Scouts and DTS try to defend. DT triggers mine on top of 2 Vultures.
fOrGG continually reinforcing, but now the scouts have destroyed the turret. Kill one tank. Working on the second. SCVs come in to build turrets, but the scouts kill it in time.

Kal massing up Zealots now, to expell the Terran push once and for all.
For watchin this on GOM: I have a live menu scrolling on the right side, where MSL 18.30 appears at some time. Just click that and it leads you to the link.
First two Goliaths out for fOrGG, driving away the scouts. Kal now has a sizable force of zealots that charge head on into the Terran troops. the Push is BROKEN, but some vultures are left alive.

ForGG is actually already building his 2nd expo now, he somehow managed to transition into something more economical. First Arbiter out for Kal who obviously has a large advantage at the moment. He even had some of the strongest units of the game out which is nothing to be sneezed at.
Some goons are working their way through the mines with an observer at their side, towards fOrGGs open expansion. Kal claiming his 3rd and 4th base.

Ladies and gents, so far we see standard TvP respectively PvT. Standard Gate - Core and Raxx - Fac.
Kal's first Zealot ALMOST manages to keep the scouting SCV out of his base, but there isn't much to see there anyway. ForGG getting rines, so this time it might be a FD for him.
Kal with 1 gate -> robo. Scouting SCV saw it all and is punished for knowing.

Second gate going up for Kal too. Scouting zealot is recalled to his base. fOrGG makes his base more beautiful by relocating his raxx about two inches to the left. fOrGG startes a CC in his main base and is getting an Engbay, to prepare against early cheese.
Classic observer first for Kal, Observer goes on a mission while support bay is starting. As the observer makes it way, Kal starts a Nexus.

ForGG is ultra safe, he has 3 tanks and turret at his natural while the CC is floating into place - slightly before Kal's natural nexus is finished. As Range kicks in, Kal charges into the natural! fOrGG is NOT SIEGED and his upgrade only finishes slightly after. Loses a tank and gets one in the red.

Kal attacks and kills stuff, I didn't quite catch it but I think a tank died? At the very least forGG lost his turret.

FD - Meaning "fake double" (As in fake 2 Fact rush). Terran rushes with similar forces from a Gundam, but from 1 Factory only, with the intention of expanding immediately.
Gundam – A quick rush from 2 Factories (1 Add-on), meant to push Protoss back far enough to allow Terran to Bunker and contain him. Terran moves out at the same time as an FD, but quicker than a Joyo.
Joyo – A slower timing rush off 2 Factory (2 Add-ons), meant to push Protoss back far enough to deny an expansion. Terran moves out later than an FD or Gundam, but with more units and research.

ForGG tried to sneak a turret push into the middle of the map, but some goons discovered it and maid the turret attempt void.
Kal adding to 5 gates in total, has his natural running. He expanded to the location below his base too, blocking the entrance with 2 pylons and a support bay. Two vultures find it and start popshotting the pylon, but goons with observer take care.
fOrGG soon on 5 fac. First shuttle ominously floating around for Kal.

Vultures are traversing the map to harass, but not much success so far, as goons are almost everywhere they want to go. But fOrGG will surely be macroing up a huge push. GOes throguh the middle. Reaver is dropped, speedzeals charge into the terran force.
fOrGG retreats, putting mines on his path that Kal's Zealots just walk over. The Protoss offensive is finally stopped at the Terran's natural as no zeals are left. those are streaming for reinforcement however. Kal looking strong.

ForGG takes the middle ground again with a Tank vulture force. MANY speedzeals are streaming out of Kal's gate, classic spirit toss. Bunch of tanks siege up in the middle, gettin some stray goons. ForGG has to do something soon, as Kal is outexpanding him.
Kal engages the push. The Terrans forces are not even close (tm) of holding off the Protoss here. fOrGG is forced back again, surviving with 5 odd tanks and some vultures.

forGG finally established himself at the Min / Gas base below his mainbase. He is not trying to assault the middle position anymore but going for Kal's lower expansion, placing three tanks to siege the choke. Some vultures are covering the offense with mines. Tanks are quite successful in taking out probes there until they are eventually destroyed. Kal needs to regain his momentum, if fOrGG has a 3rd base up for a while, he can win this.

Still no further tech recognisable for Kal.
ForGG is obviously lacking in upgrades, just now getting his starport for 2-2 upgrades and has 2 armories waiting. Kal expanding to 4th base and sending a shuttle down the map. ForGG assaulting Kal's 3rd again but is repelled by Protoss and a reaver in a shuttle. Shuttle now heading for ForGGs 3rd where a 4th CC is just now building. ABout 20 vultures are trailing behing that shuttle.
Reaver gets 3 vultures. FInally templar tech for Kal.

ForGG actually sends a wraith to deal with the shooting shuttle. But that is just diversion! Protoss forces engage the terran metal clumped in front of the terran base. Storms finally go off but the Terran is HOLDING HIS GROUND. The Wraith also managed to take care of the harassing shuttle. Suddenly fOrGG is in a good position. Macro Terran, definitely.

ForGG senses the opportunity, sending out vultures again to snipe HTs and harass expansions. Kal's force is looking small at the moment, although he is frantically pumping. His lower expansions look a bit undersaturated and fOrGG is on the same count of expansions now.
Yet another shuttle heading out for harass, this time to Terran's main. Drops 4 zealots, takes out an armory! Probably a 2nd upgrades was spinning there. Once more Kal uses this time assault somewhere else, pushing through the lower lane against some Terran containment force. If he manages to reach the 3rd and 4 th base of GGs, he will have a field time there.
He does not however, there is a bright red siege tank in his way.

Drops 1 tank 2 vultures. Kal sends his own shuttle to fix it and some zealots. forGG makes no attempt of saving a drop, as it has bought him vital time. 2nd armory has been rebuilt for further upgrades, but Kal achieved his aim - Terran metal still at 1-1 grades. Short lull of action.
FOrGG has the middle fortified with Tanks and Turrets. Kal needs to find ways around, but the narrow passageways really favor the Terran setup. Kal trying to push from above towards GGs natural.
Another dropship, this time in Kal's mainbase. Lucky mine is pulled onto the tank that was dropped.

ForGG used the impulse to transfer his tanks to the 4th base of Kal's, the low ground base at the expansions belove his base. The Terran force which wandered over the bridge is caught and annihilated. Kal assaulting over the bridge now, wild storms going off and the Terran line BARELY holds.

I personally think athena late game is hard for PvT. Seems hard to keep a hold of expos and the small chokes makes it a tad difficult to break pushes.

I am back and already missed half the action.
Kal proxying, IMBA probe gets one SCV and prevents wallin with a pylon. There is just one gate, not two as the proxy. The first zealot will be out nearly at the same time when the barracks finishes.

fOrGG is nicely cornering that first zealot. Zealot gets one scvs. Second zealot out too. First marine is sniped by a zealot. Perfect surround on one zealot, but second zealot takes revenge. Third is pounding at the barracks.
It would be good to see if Kal is teching for anything or just going with the rush here.

Kal has 4 zealots still alive in the terran main where a bunker is covering most of the stuff forGG has. Zealots take out a depot though and are working on a second. If he loses both depots, he is in HUGE trouble.

I am still waiting for some Biomech from fOrGG, those games tend to be vastly entertaining. But maybe he figured that Kal's reaver usage is too good.
Standard stuff from both so far. Kal blocking off his ramp against a scouting SCV, so no recon for fOrGG anytime soon. Also follows up with an overlooking pylon at the south part of his base. Maybe hidden tech incoming? Scouts episode two?

Fast dropship is obviously a preference with the location of the naturals, being cliffable to some extent. Maybe he will even take an SCV to wall off that part. Some vultures with Mines moving up the Map. Kal barely has 2 goons and 2 zealots and the first DT out. Shuttle picks up dual Zealot and dual DT load. fOrGG drops 4 vultures into Kal's main base.
HUGE mine. All goons dead. Kal might as well gg now.

Mine in forGGs main also gets lots of SCVs. Kal slowly reclaiming his mainbase and one DT in forGGs base is still alive and kicking - and no turret nearby. DT with 10 kills now. fOrGG appears to be wanting to relocate somewhere, floating his CC off. Actually this is going well for Kal now.

My GOM crashed too, sound is gone but pictures are still coming . forGG sending some vultures to Kal's main base and another mine takes out nearly ALL of the probes at Kal's main. forGG lifting off his natural CC once more. His main is in ashes, but Kal does not have MUCH more. Wounded goon takes out the dropship. Kal has ONE probe mining. forgg NONE.

ForGG is mining up Kal's choke and sneaks some vultures into his expansion. Last time he did not manage to do much economical damage, but this time it is looking better.
Vultures are taken out in the end. First DTs are out. Turret finishes JUST before DT can prevent ths construction. fOrGG with a nice position, first scout is out. But this time the economy is suffering HARD and some turrets are part of the push.

Game 3, that 2 player map, ForGG was really stupid for not scouting that. The gateway was outside ForGG's expansion! lol.

Dammit, I wanted Kal to win, just for not having a TvT in the semis. Anyways, I don't think Flash is in shape to take this, and it's possible he could go no further than the semis. He can get past Lomo, but maybe forGG is in too much of a good shape right now.
I think the other "conference" has more contenders, either Hwasin, JD, or even Much. I think Hwasin has a pretty decent shot at JD, and once he beats him, he can have an easier pace with Much and forGG. However, if JD can't beat Hwasin and take the MSL, I would really like Much to win it(I know, long shot)
