Today is the moderate day in OSL. There are not as many badge-holders and former superstars thrown around like they will be on Friday. There are mostly mirror games. Everything is fine.
Not everything is fine. There will be eight players out there, and they are fighting for their lives. The mirrors go from the traditionally most static (TvT) to the most dynamic (ZvZ), topping the day off with an exciting PvT.
First off is a Terran mirror among the two most consistent Terrans of recent times. Proleague Monster Sea vs. "I-destroy-everything"-Monster Flash. Sea has a TvT career record of 65.57%. Flash has burst through to a whopping 68.75%. They met in Proleague recently with Flash coming out on top and leading KTF to a clean victory over the Heroes. Technically, Sea has no chance. He is known to be folding under pressure, and Flash is just on too much of a run to slow down in this passage. He won't let himself be endangered to slip into Playoff games, where some lucky cheese can throw him off. He will prevail. But Sea can live off the magnitude of opposing odds - nobody expects him to win, so he can play with a clean mind.
The second match of the day features two of the would-be protoss prodigies of modern times. They both have a history of beating their "the next big Protoss"-ancestor, as both already overcame the (formerly) most feared PvP-Player on the planet, Stork. BeSt is, solely looking at stats, the favourite in this matchup, but Jangbi has shown skills he was never estimated to possess in advance. This one will be close.
Rumble vs. Luxury makes for yet another interesting ZvZ in our most dearly beloved group. The maths of this group are dead easy: Winner gets to the next round, July is already qualified as 1st of the group. Can Luxury whip out his formerly 2nd best ZvZ in progaming? Can Rumble prove the new "If it is SKT1, bet on it" doctrine?
Mind vs. Much is the final match, and for me it is the most anticipated. Grandpatoss appeared to have some sort of renaissance when beating Bisu, not to mention he made it out of the "civil war" group in the MSL, stepping over Jangbi and Anytime. Mind on the other side has an especially artful TvP to watch - and that alone should provide for amazing entertainment. The group is tied 1-1 for everyone, so the doctrine is as simple as group C: Win it, and you're in it.

In that case, there will be a 3-way playoff with one getting through. In group B, Jangbi is in the same situation: He has to hope for Stork beating Nada, then Jangbi, Nada, and Stork will play the 3-way. Group C is decided. In group D, the winner of Bisu vs. Backho joins Much for the Ro8. If I understand the system correctly, Bisu would go as D2 (lost against Much), Backho as D1 (won against Much).
How to watch
- Yaoyuan should work, with some delay to the Daum stream. Works only in IE and requires the TVAnts plugin (dl here)
- If you have a good connection, use the Daum player (guide here)

Sea definitely started mining at his expansion WAY earlier than Flash could - Flash only had the advantage of earlier fac and machine shop but that does not count for much.

In TVT I think the key after getting a bo advantage against him is to just macro off 2 base with vult speed/mines to gain map vision and harass expos while increasing dropship count. Flash relies on having an almost equal sized army which he controls better than his opponent while multitasking perfectly to gain an expo advantage. So even if he loses a battle or 2 he will maintain an advantage into late game.
Vults force flash to spread his thinned army even more and give great vision which might a top terran to force a strong battle victory, instead of a close victory. Go.go did this, but flash played pretty sloppy that game. Still the vults were the key.

After Sea got a nice early bo advantage with his 8 rax just outside his nat into cc(he forced flash to cancel his cc after going 1 fact cc) his first attack of marines +5 tanks and 2 dropships got completely raped. Obviously Sea didnt expectflash to have dropship in time. Flash had 1 dropship with 4 gols which he droped right on 4 tanks on the high ground. Seas one tank on the low ground firing to the high ground simply added to the rape.
From there Flash immediately went for the newly made 3rd expo, sieged near the choke to deny troop access, then pressured the expo itself w ith 2dropships. Fakesteve is right , Seas battle tactics were off and he droped in a poor spot. From there flash simply completely outmicroed him, targetting nearly perfectly when he needed to, spreading his units, and neutralized the base.
After that Flash's nearly flawless macro mechanics allowed him to completely crush Sea in the final battle of the match with an army at LEAST 3 times the size of Seas at the same expo flash destoryed earlier.

The Playback replay showed that following that first attack sea actually had a small (i think around 10) supply advantage over flash, it seemed to me that what did him in was that flash just positioned and micro'd his units alot better in that battle.

Ok..Both playes did a pylon gate pylon gas core gate build. Made about 3 lots each. Best quickly expoed off 2 gates then added robo after getting range. Jangbi got early range as well and a slightly later expo, favoring a slightly earlier robo.

Obs started for jangbi and for best. Complete mirror builds. Jangbi macroing up to 4 gates, Best doing the same

Best places a citadel quickly after adding his 4th gate. The obs have reached each others bases. 5th and 6th gate added for best. Jangbi at 4 gates, going reaver, has a shuttle out and reaer making. Citadel placed after. Lets see if jangbi's reaver micro will be strong enough to do solid damage before best's troop count gets too high.

Best has 2 goons way out to catch probes. A sneaky obs barely escapes from best's main. 5 gate for jangbi. MOVING OUT. 2 dts from best going ar ound the army. Nice best nice.

Jangbi at the bridges with 2 reavers. 2 GREAT SCARABS take out a chunk of zeals. DT COUNTER! 6 probes die before they run for their lives. The dt heads t o the main so they are all xfered to the expo where ANOTHER dt is waiting. It adds about 7 more kills. THe one in the main has freaking 11 kills. 1 dt down. 12 kills for the hero dt as it takes out a pylon. Speed lots and an ob finally take it down. Jangbi does have a 3rd though. And map control. Best is very zeal heavy but with no temp power yet. Best moving around to the top mid while taking his 3rd.

HUGE COUNTER AT JANGBIS EXPOSED NAT! ONE STORM READY, only one tep. Jangbi will win the fight but is taking HUGE damage to his probes again. 4 speed zeals are the murderers. Jangbi looking woefully low on probes and wow best has sniped both reavers (at different times) and taken out BOTH obs. Best's reenforcements run up to Jangbi's 3rd base and crush it. Jangbi ggs. Best is a fucking monster. Best protoss on the scene right now, not even counting the win against flash

Yes of course, NaDa has already won. Its just a matter of formality. Stork is all about typing that GG now, its his fate, his destiny, more important than his next silver medal... Infact, NaDa should just toss him a couple silver medals after the game (no one remembers NaDa's many silvers anyhow), maybe a small gold one?

Stork is strong if the game works out the way he predicted, and he can play out of his mechanics, which are still very strong. In fact, I think that almost all of his victories this month was due to mechanics, and not due to gamesense/gameplan. He has been serverly lacking in those two areas for quite some time.
If Nada can put some pressure on him early, I expect him to fall apart, like his epic failure against Kal, letting his probes get stormed to death without moving them.

Usually there is a SLIGHT chance of getting the colours later, when they go 1st PoV and when they zoom onto players in a critical moment (just lost your entire army? -> Your picture is on the screen for sure!)

To be fair, since I didnt really care too much about this game (reporting it anyways) lux played really awesome at one point. Microing 2 groups of lings (at his choke) and at rumbles main very very well. This is what lead to the "rape" situation.

He stated earlier that he was having difficulty telling who was who, hence the use of colors to denote players. And why not, re: caps? No use going all deadpan during an amazing situation. Caps enhances the LR for people with dead streams.

Read the thread. I missed who was who because I was typing and the colors are very very simular on my shitty laptop monitor. And its not useless because when the colors are known it become usefull again.

DT incoming mind has enginering bay and builds a turret, but the DT snipes it just as it is finished. Shuttle dies to marine fire and two DT are working on the one fac, forcing mind to lift it off and build another add-on closer to turret

Thats an old rule from long ago when live reports were actually important because not many people had streams. It would suck in tense matches when someone would say GG before the report had reported what happened.

Mind fends of the DT with turrets and has built a cc at nat. The DT are still in minds base but cant do anything yet. Much is building hidden expo at 1 but mind has wallhack and sends one vult who arrives just before the pylon wall was complete. Mind adding more facs. Much saves the hidden expo and builds another wall with forge and cannons. Much has 6 gates and pumping goons. Minds sends 3 vults and does some harass and kills many probes in main and nat. Mind iis building another base at closest expo with gas (9ish)

Don't be rash. Best is in AMAZING form right now - 11 wins in 11 games recently. He beat Flash in PL and they can meet no earlier than Semifinals, making the encounter BO5. If I was to name a single serious challenger for Flash at the moment, I would name him.

Best, Bisu and Jangbi are all dangers to Flash. As long as they all shape up and ship out, Flash won't have an easy time of it. Hooray for Best also, great to see him owning it up and I hope Bisu joins him as an SKT advancer on Friday.

Tough for break for Mind and now he has to face Flash in MSL. Hoping Bisu beats Backho, but this means he will get D2 meaning Flash, Best, or July. Oh well I think he can beat any of them if he he plays his best. Thats a big if, but Much winning will make things harder for Bisu if he takes D2.
P.S. He is not going to die to that noobs cheese. Backho will get rolled.
