I hate all the people whining about new players coming up and winning against the past gosus. If this didn't happen, Starcraft wouldn't evolve and would remain in the same old boring progaming scene. What the hell is wrong with variation. And FYI if you had watched the OSC, you'd have seen CLEARLY that Spear isn't some lucky newbie. He's fucking good. Generally speaking you're right but variations doesnt count when a favourite player's playing ...

Variation and evolution are crucial but to have a flood of one-hit wonders who won't necessarily be contenders is not fantastic either. The Dual tournament is notorious for producing these caliber of players and then spitting them out when they can't handle the pressure of maintaining themselves in the next season. And, can these players win a series? I guess we'll find out.

What you're saying is true, and I think most people recognize the need for new players to beat older ones and change Starcraft. However, a Starleague completely without past favourites is boring as well, and doesn't cast a favourable light on the game either (making SC look like a game in which experience counts for nothing and that is too random and luck-based). So, what we need is a little balance - every Starleague should have its share of new faces and potentials, as well as some past favourites. This Starleague, with already so many newbies qualifying, I'm really hoping for either Savior or Nada to make it.
