There are lots of backdoor routes that make slow pushing hardly viable. I believe those are the most apparent reasons it's does so bad. But the same features that make a map "carrier hell" make it a "tank hell" generally. A lot of cliffs and ramps favor both. Wider ramps somewhat favor tank warfare, water favors carriers, but still if a map is cramped, it doesn't make it instawin for toss, in fact, midgame is very hard there. I think that's the main reason 2 base carrier became so popular, cramped maps make ground play very hard. Katrina is somewhat a different story with it's super-complex pathing and long distances, but those features still persist. Lol muta owns the forest ^^
