Poor play by justin. He definitely saw the carrier tech early, because when they showed his first person view, you could see Reach's stargates on his minimap in the fog of war.

He tried to push out and did some damage, killing Reach's expansion nexus, but really had a half-assed answer to 4 carriers (a few cloaked wraiths, a few turrets and late goliaths).

Well the reason he had no answer was because while he took out the nexus, he killed no probes and lost his whole army to carriers, killing very little fighting units.

I don't understand why he didn't start building goliaths as soon as his comsat revealed the tech. Instead, it looked like he did nothing for a few minutes except prepare a very late push. The two port wraits started late...and frankly, I didn't think that was the best choice with map positions where Reach could advance directly on his base with carriers with goon coverage the entire way (ie, the carriers were never exposed all by their lonesome).
