That enables secret corruption mode 1: 200 US $ to take the free slot in the qualifier! You must be eligible otherwise to do this, that means registered account in the ladder and 33 games minimum. No MMR requirements, first come first serve :D

details about map picking updated in the OP as follows:
each player, taking turns, vetoes a map until 1 map remains. First round the lower seed (mmr ranking in qualification) vetoes first, each other round lower rankd player in standings vetoes first.

Besides the unfortunate drop-out of many players, i actually think the tournament is really great. We had very good matches and the players are really close in score, there's a lot of competition left for day2!

Because we had the most players at the start and 22 rounds bo2 would have been way to long (32 players signed up initially)
Pebble: we had a cast today, masterrey and qikz casted from reps. But there is no special rep cast planned, like at a different date.
TB=tiebreaker.
