For being as good as he is, Sharp has some real issues with his macro. Modesty is always a treat to watch when he can play his style in zvt. Best looked solid in my opinion.

BeSt played good but tbh really disappointed in Zero's performance. He played SO much better on stream like a month ago.. Stuborn to keep 3h hydras, especially on Cross Game where nat is on high ground

I saddens me to see Zero in this state. 3 hatch every game. To be fair, you could see he had the right ideas at times but his execution is just way off. I hope he gets back to his former self soon. Watching Zero during his peak was exciting as fuck. Props to Best as well. His PvZ seems to have improved a lot.

Best redeemed himself from his laughable ASL performance. His PvZ has become quite strong the past year or two. It's hard to remember he used to have terrible stat in the matchup in the KeSpa era.

It was absurd to expect Zero to play as well in tournament as he did on stream. Especially as a well-known choker. I thought his meta was actually fantastic considering his limitations. I don't care who you are: we're talking about professionals here. Best is one of the five or six best players in the world and is in excellent shape. It's unrealistic to expect Zero to challenge that.

He is still smart as shit but he has never been an extremely strong aggressive player and Best had no problem overwhelming him with his mechanical decision making.

Modesty, oh my God! It's likely Sharp underestimated Modesty. I sure did; I had zero faith he'd win. Quite embarrassing for Sharp. Modesty is a long time professional, and thus has professional pride, and obviously prepared well. Sharp's success is still new to him, and BW is high variance, so I don't think it's worth killing Sharp over. Shit happens. Kudos to Modesty. Rest assured no one will be underestimating Modesty in tournament from here on out. If he continues to impress, he'll have earned it, but I would still be modestly (hehe) surprised if he made it out of this group.

I'd still love to know, from people who are a bit better in touch with playing at a high level - is the fast +1 carapace Modesty was using new? I don't think I've seen it before, and it actually looked to give his mutas a big boost, which combined with his micro really tore into Sharp.

I am pretty sure its a reaction to Sharp's low barracks count in the previous games of the series.
If thats new or not, i am not sure, but it was pretty clever imo.

Game 5 Sharp straight up forgot +1 attack upgrade. Meanwhile Modesty has +1 air carapace early and it was a death sentence.
