Pretty hard to decide who I want to win. Soulkey definitely has the upper hand, but Sharp has been so impressive this KSL it's hard to not want to root for him >.>

Also, I hope you guys are able to make ASL, KSL and MPL LRs moving forward in the future seeing as this is a community effort. They don't have to be fancy or anything like this stuff here which uses css. The older LRs where you had someone doing their best paint and use that as a banner for example were some of the coolest ones imo.

I like them both and I'll be excited for whichever wins. Was not the case 6 months ago. Sharp has won me over rather quickly.

I generally cheer for zerg over terran but I think I'm going for sharp here. He's improved so much and this has totally been the season where he has come into his own, but he's still the underdog here I think.

Wthhh we just had a terran win last KSL. How can people root for Sharp over Soulkey? Soulkey really deserves a title after being at the top for so long :/

Whoever deserves it will win this finals. Sure, I think it'd be nice if Soulkey won something, but Sharp has made such huge strides in his game that him winning would be even cooler than Soulkey is. Granted, I realize a Terran won last KSL, but it comes down to whoever shows up and plays the game well.

watching his stream i never felt sharp's tvz is particularly stellar. lost 1-3 to sk in ksl1 and also lost 2-3 to larva this ksl but rode his tvt/tvp to the finals.

sk on his day can match even flash but he lost 0-3 to mind this ksl :/ thanks to last's implosion never get to see more of sk recent play, so meh :/

gonna go out on a limb here and say sharp will win in a close series, as soulkey is a perennial underachiever and will find a way to lose the series come hell or high water.

I'm predicting Sharp to win 4-3. I think this will go down to the final game. Usually, I would go SoulKey but Sharp is in such good form at the moment.

If Sharp wins it will be a similar story to the last KSL. I'm predicting 4-2 for Soulkey.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to you all on TL <3

Thanks for supporting the SCR scene and this new league in the first year! It's been great to see SCR back up in the limelight where it belongs with two major leagues now (ASL & KSL)!

Just tuned in to see tanks sieged in front of SK's nat, and the consequent GG.

What kind preparation or build did Sharp do?

Okay interesting finals already... super aggressive build from Sharp and Soulkey couldn't crush it like he was doing last week.

In Game 1 here's what happened:

- Sharp 1 based and sent an early drone to E-Bay the nat
- Soulkey 12pooled
- Sharp 1-based the whole game and after a long, back-and-forth push, Soulkey bungled the surround (lot of bungled Lurker micro in this game in fact, otherwise Soulkey likely wins) and Sharp takes it

Tasteless nailed Sharp's style well: aggressively attempt to throw the opponent off and follow it up with a strong push. Sharp wants to mix it up with tactics. He out-tacticed Soulkey. Not something you see often.

Well i guess larva can only spawn so fast on 3 hatches, 3rd was only for macro, no drones there.

Ebay to delay natural hatch, and then one-base terran.
He did a really good job not losing units early on, so his army got prettt big towards the end despite staying on one base.
Also didnt rush his final push, from every lurker engage to the final positioning of sieged tanks at the natural, sharp was very calm despite the clock ticking in SK's favor

As long as sharp had army and vessel around, soulkey had no way of getting rid of it (even tho he landed a scourge on it) also cliffs near nat working in tanks favor, few clunky lurkers stomping on each other.

Also forcing those 2 sunkens had soulkey removing drones from gas cuting muta production after initial 5.

Clutch defence at natural with sunkens, crucial surround reverses the momentum. Blunder during terran defence ends the game.

Not sure what I was expecting, honestly. SK should smash Sharp any day of the week in a BoX series.

Sharp played really well though, he actually almost busted SK's after sniping the nydus but SK managed to sneak a clutch defiler through.

It's bio, the terran player is playing great until 120 supplies then it's impossible to keep up with the production, the endless group of marines, scans and vessels.

Shame, I thought Sharp would be able to step it up. But then SK goes 'LOL' and rolls him.

Watching soulkey makes you want to play zerg. Sadly I fell asleep haflway through the finals but bigfan's prediction was basically right.

Wow, Soulkey was outstanding.
Sharp played his heart out in the last game and still was not enough to topple Soulkey. I hope he keeps the desire to improve and comes back stronger. I love his style, kind of reminds of Fantasy.

That last game was so good, too bad the other games didn't go on so long (although SK's mind-game on Eddy was awesome). I'm surprised Sharp didn't go for more cheese builds, his standard play is great but just no match for SK. SK seems pretty weak when he's not able to play the way he wants to (IE getting thrown off by the nat block in game 1) so I'm surprised Sharp didn't go for more plays like that after the first set. Either way glad for SK to finally take a gold.

Great Final. Game 3 was dirty.

Final game was everything I wanted. I wish we got a few more of those ridiculously long games. Sharp was playing incredibly to claw as he did. Fun finals to watch.

Felt almost like tastosis slightly underhyped it ;p Aaah Damnit I want more

Biggest? Probably. Most impressive? Certainly not. Him beating Effort, Flash and Larva in succession to win that WEGL Championship a couple of years ago was insanely impressive.

The lack of tanks in Sharp's play (esp. the final game) was a huge disappointment. Sharp's macro and econ control is simply not on par with that of Soulkey's, but he did fight till the bitter end, and hats of to both players for such an entertaining end to this series!!!

sharp rarely plays mech tvz, sk is his preferred style which works well for him on ladder or against weak zergs. which unfortunately is incredibly taxing lategame and countered easily by top tier zergs. imo sharp needs to learn tvz mech style if he wants to be considered a top terran

should have gone some different builds, fast vessels or valkyries to counter muta
he basically lost to muta in the midgames, and then it just snowballed.

Wow I've never rooted for a T in a ZvT before (since I'm a Zerg "racist"), but I found myself rooting for him. I like his style but sadly he was outclassed by SK.

As a zerg, I'm happy SK won but I would have been even happier if Sharp had managed to pull of some magic. Hope to see more from Sharp!

The game on Aztec was so good.

Finals were one sided, kinda meh, some games were long, but almost all of them looked like watching terran slowly getting choked and swarmed. That last game though, why Sharp floated so much gas and refused for a mech switch, I don't get it.

I really enjoyed the finals. Think sharp was a bit unlucky with the timings in game (3?), but then he did choose to gamble and go for the bust.

But the last games was the best game. I was initially really impressed by SK's muta-ling holding off 5 rax, Then I was amazed how Sharp kept in the game from a clearly worse position for so long.

Sharp's macro slipped in so many of the games.I'm not sure if he was shaken or just struggles with bio TvZ or what but there was so much floating of resources that could have been the difference maker.

Game one was so sexy though.

Great ending!
I'm a happy Zerg player after SK taking the series and finally getting his deserved throphy! (and my LB going in).

Still, I really have taken an interest in Sharp and his play. And also his off-air attitude, seems so friendly. And with his friends, breaking the 'steel board' With Soulkey on it in the pre-show. Awesome.

GG's!

Some great games but also some big blunders by Sharp that made him lose more decisively than he deserved, Sharp had some great strategies and moments but flubbed a bit here and there as well.

A great finale and I am happy that Soulkey finally got a win after being such a strong force for so long.

sharp looked great in game 1, then soulkey stepped up his game and showed absolute dominance. sharp fell apart after his plan in game 2 didnt go accordingly. it was a BO win but soulkey played out of his mind. congrats on his first grand finals and a win nonetheless!

I enjoyed this series though it became obvious that after the Neo Aztec game, Sharp was broken mentally. It didn't help that Soulkey was clutch in certain cases, and in others, Sharp got himself into a worst position. Regardless, fun finals overall, and grats to Soulkey! Glad he got his first championship (don't count WEGL).

You say broken I say mechanically not up to the task of dealing with that much stuff to keep a 4 base Zerg at bay.

He was floating 1000+minerals and/or 2000+ gas in the last 2 games. I understand the diffculty of trying what he did, but being on barely 2.5 mining bases that's not acceptable if you want to win.

Also, in the game on FS he targeted the still morphing sunken, which was a misclick/bad decision I think. Had he targeted the already finished one he might've had a chance to bust, but then he also needed to micro his stuff a bit better..
Game on on CB was sad because the double drop could've turned the tide completely had he focus fired earlier. Of course I don't remember if he was defending other more crucial stuff back home then. He was just under constant pressure it was insane.. I never felt like Soulkey was being in trouble there despite him knocking on his door a few times.

Wasn't able to watch until today (and actually kept myself from getting spoiled, no less) - what a great final! And so much mind games going on that I didn't really know until Tastosis pointed it out (f.ex. te drone transfer by SK to hide his eco build). And so satisfying that it ended with a game like game 5 was.

So amazing to watch this level of play! :D

Nice series, feel a bit bad for Sharp after all that work he put in. Shame Soulkey is so good at standard ZvT macro and control games.
