Rain tried to, but Sharp was very good about denying scouting. There was a specific moment shown where Sharp scouted just to grab an observer trying to fly into his base with goliaths, he had to be on top of things.
Rain losing his robo in the middle of the map sure didn't help, though.

i think that was more to catch the shuttle from flying in, preventing the obs from entering was a added bonus but yeah

Players don't have perfect info, and Sharp did what he thought was the best thing to do at the time. With how strong Sharp's TvT is, I think if Last wins over Soulkey he has a really good chance of winning this tournament. I don't really watch/study Last's TvT, is he stronger than Sharp?

I love Sharp's play, I just thought that one thing was a bad decision. It's likely he saw the reaver (I think it was already out at the start of the attack, or certainly right after), so he knows there's no observers, and thought the mines would do more. I'm not calling him bad for it by any stretch.

directly rushing 3 vults to opponents probes work in lower levels because opponent isn't paying attention at all so its better to rush there simple. here you need to delay goons with mines or the goons will reach the vults faster anyway. not to mention poor handling of mines can force errors and may even end in disastrous result for protoss. im sure sharp is aaware of this and therefore made the decision to lay mines. if you think hes totally wrong you should tell sharp and every other terran pro, not me. not like he cares now,

That HT shuttle snipe in game 7 was really crucial just before his big push. He was able to take the middle from there and Rain couldn’t do much.

You're fighting against results oriented thinking.
Sharp did not know there were goons close to the ramp and ready to defend, he went for the optimal play you described, end of the story.

Wow I definitely did not expect the result. Whoever wins in Soulkey vs Last, we can’t have a bad finals regardless. I’m rooting for Soulkey in his match against Last because I figure him to be the underdog.

Really happy for Sharp, glad we got to see some good games from this series. Sharp's TvP is fun to watch, he's the closest there is to Fantasy's TvP it seems like right now.

Well god damn, Sharp beats Rain. I just watch the vod. Sharp did amazing to come back and win the final game. Glad he didn't tilt when Rain was making his comeback.
I fully expected Rain to win and even take this tournament.

the problem watching the vod instead of live is I can see the duration. after 3 games, I knew sharp was winning-- not enough time for 4 more games. ok, so I was wrong.
Never been so happy for my liquibet to fail. Great job, Sharp. I'm really liking this guy lately.

Great win by sharp. His reaction after winning was priceless.
Not a fan of harass style plays (especially drop ship based) just because I dont think they are reliable and set you back so much. But sharp played really well in the end game, with heavier vulture use than usual, which I do like a lot! Especially against Rain who has a tendency to run his army into the opponent because he's used to having enough to win with brute force.
And when you are behind bases, T really has to trade favourably, losing a tank heavy army hurts too much. Having less tanks also means less clumps, which are vulnerable to stasis and storms. I think as P, one of the hardest things in engaging T is figuring out how deep the tank line is. The deeper and more spread out, the better against really good Ps. And even pros with the best late game army control are still prone to not spreading out tanks enough.

Really dope series. Am I wrong or if Rain could comeback it could be the first bo7 reverse sweep in BW history? Not gonna happen. I'm glad Sharp is getting back to his ASL1 form, BBARAS should be proud! But seeing how SK trashed 2nd best terran I feel like he's in a LOT trouble.

This was an amazing series. Sharp played out of his mind and made Rain look like any other toss in those first 3 games. I've seen how Sharp plays over the years, and his TvZ and TvP were always pretty weak aside from random games here and there. His TvT was always his bread and butter, but this series, this KSL, and the most recent ASL, Sharp's skills have skyrocketed through the roof in all matchups. If he faced Last in the finals, I think he would've had a chance especially if Last isn't able to play at his best, however, seeing as its Soulkey, I would still give Soulkey the advantage, but if Sharp can maintain his form and play as he did vs Larva, plus add in some cheese like Mind did vs Soulkey, he can actually win the finals!
GGs Sharp, well earned victory. As for Rain, his micro felt subpar at times. Even in that FS game that he won, his goon split and micro was lacking. Infact, he targeted one tank, then moved back and tried to target another then made some misclick and even though he killed the 3 tanks, lost his goons. His engagement on CB needed work as well. I figure he's just so used to outmacroing that his micro doesn't get practiced as much. Hopefully he fixes this up in time for ASL7 and KSL3.
