^ youtube vod seems to work fine for me

Jaedong advancing isn't surprising but Sea losing. I mean, sure, he's rusty but Movie is rustier imo. Definitely a surprise imo.

So only 1 terran qualified on these maps to the Ro16, and he played a TvT and held an all-in from an slumping Calm.
That sais a lot about the lengths they take to stop Flash.
According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

To be fair, Last didn't exactly play well against Miso and neither did Light against Shine after those drops. To me, it feels like most of the terrans just self-destructed this ASL, partially due to the map and partially due to other factors. I mean, we even had Sea, who might not have been the best but at least he should've been able to take out a rusty Movie.

Then there was no sSak and Mong got eliminated in a TvT after meeting Snow in the latter's best matchups. Last, Light, Mong, Sea and sSak. Aside from Flash, these were the more consistent terrans. Feel like I'm forgetting someone.

Right now it's Stork. Other than him, Rain seems to be the one who can challenge Flash the most.

There was something very, very wrong with Sea's gameplan for the final game. He didn't take a third for a long time, sat on 5 fac but didn't push for quite some time either and then died to arbiters courtesy of having absolutely NO defense at home (not a single turret, I think ,and not a single mine). The initial FD push was cute and had no meaningful transition. When I saw the early armory I thought wow, he's going for this in a more macro, tank-heavy style, since I always thought Sea was more of a I-will-harass-the-shit-out-of-you-with-a-gazillion-vultures kind of TvPer. He's just not the player he used to be.

JD's game vs Movie was a piece of art, though. Sweet decision making, one of the most fluid games I've seen on this map so far.

I think Movie has been playing, but he's not streaming. He's rusty but his macro is still strong. I don't think he streams because he doesn't want to give away his strategies and gameplan.

It will be easy ASL win for Flash. After Mind gets eliminated, Flash will need to prepare only two match ups.

It's quite possible but it feels like Sea made some mistakes that last game, especially with the way he landed no mines after getting (imo) a good position in the center.

Sea started using the 10/10/10 build in that last game, but switched to fewer marines and vultures after the first tank. Even in cross positions, I feel as if a standard 10/10/10 with 2 tanks and 8 marines would have been a lot better, specially given the relatively fast observers.

Sea wen't for a quite oldschool buildswitch where he got only 1 armory for a quick 1-0 with 5 fact push and then still have a solid lategame due to the early upgrade. But he can't move out against a quick arbiter play like that. He should have known right after the first scan that all he needed to do was to grow his bases and keep upgrades to get an advantage. Gladiator is quite a hard map to defend recalls on though.

Do you think anyone knew how the island map would play out though? That map is so wacko.

My heart still pounds when Jaedong plays. He also hit me with some nostalgia when he chose the theme song from 2009 bacchus osl for his introduction.

1. When Sea what asked what was the important thing for him, HE DIDN'T CHOOSE BEING AN ASL CHAMPION. Did I perceive that right? WHY?...... Are the matchfixing accusations on Sea have any truth in it?

2. I'm both a Larva and Jaedong fan. But I really don't know what to think of Larva choosing Jaedong for his group. Does he think he can win against Jaedong on a ZvZ any day? I know he's not in the old days Tyrant form now, but still, a top zerg on a risky matchup..

Thanks for the insight. I still wonder why he took no measures to protect against recalls - I have to watch the game again, but I don't think there were any mines or turrets. Moreover, the late third meant Movie was free to fly in both from south and west.

Maybe I'm not giving enough credit to Movie - the group of goons that Sea trapped just before the first recall maybe was some sort of bait to lure the mech ball further out and recall the production with relative impunity. Hitting the armory and denying the 2/0 was also a very nice move.

I totally agree that Sea needed to expand and turtle up against recalls, upgrade to 2/1 and push later. If I recall correctly, his arbiter defense has been a blind spot before - he was utterly demolished by Best in ASL2 and was at a disadvantage in another game of the same series, but then Best inexplicably switched to carriers.

Feels like the maps were really designed to stop Flash. I can't see Terran winning against a decent Zerg or Protoss on Sparkle.
