Long TvT, but not all that interesting unless you like TvT. I enjoyed it, but whether it is worth your time is very much debatable. A maybe, leaning towards no.
Outclassed, plain and simple, but the loser put up a really good fight, IMO. Long TvT, so if you didn't like the earlier games, you should definitely skip this.
That story about the political affairs is quite depressing, though none too surprising. Sadly, that's how politics works in most of the world. Happens here in the US too, especially at the state level. Oh and Shine is scary looking.
I didn't get the punchline of your comic at first, but after reading over it a second time, I was like "Ahhhh~ XD". I'm still groggy from not getting enough sleep; I can practically hear the rusty gears in my head chugging about slowly like molasses. Looking forward to seeing more though!
I also give condolences over the loss of your friend. May she rest in peace.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Given the circumstances, I feel pretty good, actually. I'm sorry if I got any of you worried. Rooting for STX, like always. STX Fighting!
EDIT:

Gladly. We haven't seen Modesty much since the OSL quarterfinals where he beat Kal 2-1, in what many consider to be the crushing of Kal's best chance at a title till now. The change of faces is supposed to signify hidden malicious intent, food poisoning to be exact. I was going for a bit more subtle humor here, I'm sorry if you had trouble understanding it.
Hi STX, please use Modesty in your PL game today. Thank you. Alternatively, have Bogus all-kill ^_^.
Thanks mustaju for the LR and STX shelter - though I think you need to put the latter at a more noticable place in the LR, I couldn't find the first one till I saw the post in this thread.

They are Easter-eggs. At one time, I'll post a bunch of them separately, but for now, I'll let people search.
I'd love to see Modesty and Bogus too, especially Modesty. Maybe he's doing badly in practice? Definitely possible, he got crushed by Stork after playing pretty much his best ZvP-s up to date. Bogus, on the other hand, must feel like the team's still questionable Ace. While he performs very well, S-class is still far out of reach. You'll get there yet, Bogus.
STX is looking alright. Calm and Kal are faltering again after brief stints of strong form, but the team's being held up by strong showings from Bogus, Classic, and Frozen as a legitimate Terran line, and I suspect Modesty, Trap, and Shuttle are coming into their own as well. FOX, on the other hand, is in a coordinated slump, with nobody I can name off the top of my head doing very well. STX should take this easily.

Possibly, but you'd think they'd try and use him to snipe Zergs as was his job before his OSL run. Clam and Kal look really shaky at the moment. Also, after his OSL run I think he deserves a bigger role in STX's PL lineup (or at least an opportunity to do so), I mean he did beat the eventual champion and Kal, and those games vs Stork weren't that bad either. I'm gonna guess the reason he hasn't been used was because he was practicing for OSL.
Definitely see Bogus as STX's Ace at the moment, he has matured from that little boy who 2-0 defended cheese/counter-cheesed FBH in GOM Classic S2 to someone who plays solid and can be counted on to win for STX. If I didn't buy Jaedong and Stork and him costing like 6 or 7 I'd have bought him for my FPL ^^.

This. Where else am I supposed to go for my one-stop source for lineups, results, and live reports? I can't read Korean, so I need to rely on these threads for my info.
Unless everyone wants this to be the temporary KT vs MBC LR thread.
Last trying to secure the expo right above midas' main? Midas building starports at the 10, physics lab done Last finally clears the contain outside his nat, midas reinforcing the 12
I saw what I think was a lot of wraiths (presumably from Frozen) on my tiny window while watching the other stream, and Midas got a doom zoom. The game went on for ages past that stage, though.

That's my LR contribution *shades*
Midas responded with Valkyries, but had a slower expansion. Then the stream froze, and I saw a drop in the main from Frozean. Pretty awesome till then, though.
the wraith micro of frozean was pretty nice to watch ! not the best defense by roro though... after loosing that many donres/ovies he had no real defense to those mnms

Well, that's how a successful 2 port wraith tends to go. It did feel like roro didn't do so much after the mutas initially scared the wraiths away, though.
I guess he thought he was safe and was droning up.
There is no way that Roro was ready for a one base wraith/mnm push, let alone at that timing. It was hardly conventional play, and Frozen managed to do some quality harass. He put a lot of strain on the limited drones and resources. I don't think there was an answer except to put down sunks, and he would have needed several.
I give Frozen all the credit there. After the early debacle, his play was quite sound.
Frozean really threw those drop units away for nothing. That was his only advantage, having those units able to be behind the enemy position. Then he walked them into tanks. Doesn't look great.
Frozean kills a lot of SCVs that suicide into his push to the bottom left, but loses all of his materiel. What with the continued mass expanding, this is over.
That game really comes down to losing the dropped units north of Baby's main. Frozean took the island, beating Baby to a third base, but in doing so sacrificed the unit advantage for a period which Baby used for the contain. Frozean had a slightly smaller army but a massive mobility advantage. The switch to wraiths helped against that, but losing a couple of dropships didn't cut down much on the advantage of having drop play in TvT. Losing the drop push down the right, consisting of like 6 tanks and 3 gols or so, put Frozean at an army disadvantage, behind a contain, with the economic advantage of the earlier third totally burned out. It was easy for Baby to expand against that.
When drops are the only thing you have in your corner, you need to micro better than that. They can be strong, but are fragile. It was like Frozean didn't see those guys die. I'm sure he did and was just surprised be Baby's decisive response and siege positioning. Still, letting those guys die for nothing was the end there.
On January 31 2011 21:38 structuralinertia wrote: yeah, good army control too from kal, getting those zealots where they were needed
While that's good, I think the big thing was just committing at the right times to keep Baby's army immature while pressing the macro wedge in bit by bit.
Man, sair/DT is so imbalanced. There's just nothing the zerg can do.
If only there was some static defense that zergs could use. Like a sunken colony, but shooting at air units, and perhaps simultaneously providing detection.

Yeah, too bad. They need one because the spore colony is useless against drops or mass sair.
lol, that was terrible. That massive drop was unscouted, Kal's army was out of position, and it still failed. In the meantime, two DTs and one HT destroy all of Shine's economy and tech. Shine should really learn that the answer to 3 base protoss is 4 base w/hive.
STX played well tonight. Frozean is looking pretty sound and Kal is a wall of asskickery.
Thanks for the stream.

I think that Shine certainly over-built units, but I also think that he would have had some trouble defending those 4 bases without the big hydra force moving around.

Against drops, sure, but I'm thinking specifically of the third base. This is like the 12th game this season where the protoss just removes the overlords and runs in with 1-2 DTs to take out the base effortlessly.

Seems like Mind is getting outshined in practice if he's not making an appearance, but it's still strange given the fact that I'd figure that they'd start him at least once.
And also, @ Wemade losing yet again. Winner's League has not been kind to them.
So let me get this straight. Kal almost loses to great, then ought to win but in the end fails. So he turns around and goes, "Ima just beat Shine for fun." I'm honestly a little confused.

Frozean has achieved a 45% winrate since joining STX, which isn't much better than the 42% he has overall. He just wins at weird times. There was a period last year where he was the only person on the team who was capable of winning so it was sort of like he was on a reverse-slump.

frozen went on a HUGE PL losing streak right before he transferred to STX though. it was like 11 games in PL or something.
Bumping to request a winners interview translation. Kal hasn't won in a long while and Frozen said earlier he considers Baby a huge influence. Both might be pretty interesting to read.
