I'm biased but CJ has the upper hand in this. Hydra vs Kwanro will be pivotal. Hydra showed some great play against Killer, and I think he could take it off Kwanro. Effort vs Zero likely, but maybe Movie will show up? Ace favours CJ IMO, even if Zero has been improving his zvz lately.
free vs effort, zero vs iris and i personally am even looking forward to mvp vs movie, so i can see how good movie´s pvt is. this has ace written all over it, i just hope its no zvz. if free wins against effort in their regular match, i guess stars are gonna send him to the ace and not zero...

omg, i didn't even realize that this is gonna be a test of movie's PvT. personally i havent seen him play a standard PvT since his game against leta in the last proleague playoffs.
as for ace pick, if free comes out then i'm just going to hope CJ sends effort. if its zero then i'd rather see movie :D

I wouldn't put a ton of money on it, but for what it's worth, Hydra is 6-2 in ZvZ, with 4 straight, and coming off a very impressive looking win after a BO loss. Maybe Kwanro wins, but it's much closer than you believe.

His wins are against bad players. Kwanro is a top five zerg. No.

Did you see the game against killer? Killer had quite a bit of momentum, got a good build order advantage and got destroyed by hydra.

I think it's because sometimes they look like they were a dud even when they actually did damage, but SCVs have more health than drones and probes so they don't explode when taking splash.

two out of three matches passing the test of basic competency beats all the other hanbit terrans of 0 out of 3. lol!!
EFFORT IN SERIOUS TROUBLE. ARCHON ZEALOT ARMY TEARING APART DEFILERS AND LINGS. EFFORT's DRONES RUN BACK TO HIS EXPO AND GET STORMED. THREE HATCHERIES ABOUT TO DIE!
Effort just lose a base and 3 hatches, ultra den is just about to finish. unless he insta-spawns 12 cows this is over. he just lost another 30ish lings
effort is bleh on matchpoint apparently ;D. I dont know why he doesnt get burrow so he can see if the first wave of zealots is coming to his main or his expo and send lings there accordingly.

actually he's been sniping tosses on match point all season
Ugh Effort probably going to lose this game, unable to make any dents in Free's economy. Plus Free is the lategame PvZ master. On the other hand it's Effort and he's come back from bad times, gogo!

well he lost the same way(if he continues to lose) both games I saw. That jangbi one and now this. He doesnt know where and when the zealots leave the base and he gets hurt really bad at his expo at that corner. Its an exact replay only Jangbi was able to finish him off faster.
man this must be so frustrating for Effort, hes come so close to killing so many bases and gets fended off at the last minute. Free needs DA with his death ball. lol doom drop on 2 reavers at 6 gets reinforced with FOUR more reavers. Effort starves and GG's
I don't get his strategy, pure lings vs Archon/Zeal. Bound to fail... nothing off Free, he played well, just that... effort decided to play like Savior did against kal and not use his gas.
When Free attacked Effort's triple hatchery 3rd, it was pretty bad.. several archons, templar, plus upgraded zealots. Effort's counter was completely off, although I'm not sure what he could've done otherwise.. Hydras would've died, maybe Lurkers I guess.

effort thought free will play standard aka zealot/goon/ht
free played smart by immediately figuring out how effort is going to play (number of hatcheries) and didn't get a single dragoon AT ALL, using all the gas for archons.

He built like he was going five-hatch hydra, and then went lings midgame, saving gas for ultras. Free just didn't care and went sair/dt into archon/zealot, which was exactly what he needed to do.

Mh to me this game wasnt too far away from efforts usual ZvP style, the man really likes his lings
I don't know about others, but he went the usual hydra/lurker against Jangbi. Going mass hatch->cracklings->ultra is pretty extreme play. One that Free countered quite well.

But Effort scouted Sair/Dt really early...
that's what all protosses go for, followed by zealot + dragoon

Win with pure lings?
His plan seemed rather sound to me, he was looking good until those 2 dts raped all his lings coming to save 5 so he lost tons of drones there. He was obviously aiming for quick cracklings from 9 hatches.

He has had good success with it on that map before as well, heavy ling

Yeah, except normally he also uses lurkers to hold the platform outside his min only.

This is the main reason I was confused - usually he has lurkers and get's a nice combo later on.

I feel like after those reinforcementlings got rolled by the dts, EffOrt probably decided to try to cut a few corners to even the game up. But he couldn't delay in time, and free sat on his rally points.

Exactly, after that was done he got a completely uncontested 3rd, got his 4th up fast after that and from then on efforts chances were slim to say the least really great attack by free

hmmm, to me it felt like he never planned on building any lurkers, I mean he had +1 armor for mutas and even made a few until he realized Free had mass 1+ sairs and he never made a den. He looked to be doing just muta\ling into quick hive tech, not uncommonly done in ZvP. For example Hero used it vs Bisu in their last game at Fighting Spirit.

And EffOrt uses it all the time.
You're right, I forgot he never even made the den.
Mutas do minimal damage. Iris' roving small force gets overrun by zerglings and muta. Hydras out, queens next building, lurkers soon. Also Zero has his 1 oclock up. Bunker gets killed at Iris' main, looks like iris' nat is compromised.

what? Iris needs to GG. its so over
This was when mutas first came out, went into his main, killed like 1-2 scvs.

Yeah, but Zero losing just makes you sad. He has that face where he's about to cry whenever he's about to lose. You just can't root for something like that.

oh btw@treehugger I just remembered why Kwanro said he left, he said he did so because CJs zerg were so strong anyways and he wanted to give the younger ones (hydra..) a chance to play
Well Free countered Effort's style perfectly by making Zerglings obsolete. But I was so surprised to see how little units Free have with the amount of bases he have.
