The stage is set, the lights are dimmed and we’re only hours away from the kickoff of TL Arena. It’s time we announce the players and put up the handicap and map polls.
The hero of the evening is: Shauni.
He will face off against eight of the bravest TLers. They are:
never_Nal
Punkbroodling
ZergZoul
PocketX
tyr
JonsaBoy
Nevuk
MisterKatoss
To these players: be in channel op TL-Arena at the designated time/date. Remember, we at all times reserve the right to kick you out. Don’t show up on time, cause lag, don’t have AH on and out you are. We’re fortunate enough to have a bunch of backups so we can afford to be real dicks about this.

If someone drops out we’ll let the first one on the list in and work downwards etc.
Now, onto more interesting things! The maps TL will get to pick out are:

We've done a bit of work on the handicaps. We nerved the Probe sac from 12 to 8. No Attack ups and No Defend ups are combined into No Forge ups and we ditched W-mode. This leaves 2 open spots that we will fill with TL-submissions. If he draws a TL submission once we'll get the first one from the poll, then second etc...
We selected to following HCs you can vote for:
+ Show Spoiler [Handicap poll] +Poll: Handicap?( Vote): No Corsairs ( Vote): Double Tech ( Vote): Allied AI ( Vote): Kill 1 Initial Peon ( Vote): Compulsive Merging Explanation: + Show Spoiler +No Corsairs = Contestant doesn't get to make any Corsairs.
Double Tech = 2 Tech buildings are required before contestant can make the unit (i.e. 2 Cy-cores before Goon)
Allied AI = Opponent gets an Allied cpu (ie. 1 v 1 + cpu)
Kill 1 Initial Peon = Contestant has to kill 1 of his initial peons before starting to mine
Compulsive Merging = Whenever contestant has 2 or more Templars he must merge them
These polls will close right as the event starts. I've editted the original topic to include the new handicaps. Let's do some voting!

Bwaaaargh, you noted me as P even though i said Terran. Which is understandable because all my games on the TSL acc this season are with P. But the 53 games i played last season were with T, which is still my main race.

I think Idra was supposed to play a 2v2 with a computer ally vs [Light] in yankee league a while ago. I don't think the match ever happened though.

These handicaps are so random.... whoever thought these handicaps needs to reconsider. Double tech would be too good t v p and corsair or compulsive would be ok in z(especially the compulsive) but none of these really draw upon the player to do something escpecially hard. I feel it just limits him. You should instead give the other player a boost. I like the idea and will watch. I hope it turns out not completely imbalanced

I'm a bit confused about double tech. Does it only apply to non-production tech buildings, or does it apply to production buildings as well? What about tech buildings that don't open up units, but meet prereqs for others (e.g. Citadel of Adun)?

i thought allied AI was that the pro had to ally opponent for like maybe 10s every 2 or 3 minutes so he's forced to A click to attack, and he won't be able to make any a move commands. sounds like an interesting handicap to me. although it may be hard to implement.

Yeah that's what I thought Allied AI meant, except that he had to completely ally the TLer the whole game and always use manual attack.

I totally skipped sleeping on top of a mountain to make sure I would be available for this. I'm still expecting to get stomped, though. Hope if I do get picked, it's not on fantasy II because I've never seen that map before in my life.
