Luxury, after winning a game against Protoss on Colosseum (usually a difficult map for Zerg against Protoss) - I learned about Colosseum from JD two weeks ago. He wins so easily on that map. No matter what Protoss does, he takes the game to his advantage. I learned a lot.
Zero, talking about people thinking him one of the best ZvZ - I practiced with JD yesterday. I lost a lot and realized again how good he is. He is the ultimate boss of ZvZ.
Keke, at a winner interview - JD helped a lot though he's busy. In and out of the game I owe him a lot. Today's game was influenced by much by him.
Roro, at a winner interview - I've practiced a lot with JD and learned a lot. I thank him.
FireFist, at a winner interview - I've practiced a lot with JD. I learned a lot as I lost a lot. I won because of him. I thank him.
Stork - When asked who he wants to face at a final ----- I don't care who, but I wanna avoid JD (laugh). I am overwhelmed by how good he is. I don't have enough skills to face him yet. His games show that he has improved a lot. I am not ready to face JD! - When asked about his thought on Protoss' dominance ----- Whenever people say Protoss has been dominant, I think of JD. When everyone thinks Zerg is difficult, he's been doing well. - When asked about which Zerg he wants as a teammate ----- JD. I like gamers who practice a lot. - When asked about who tops the Bisu/Stork/JD/Flash dominance ----- JD. Zerg can be weak at times, but he shows no weakness. It's amazing.
Ga-ul Gim (Samsung Khan coach), on who she wants on her team the most - JD. I like his style, and I've talked with him on several occasions and I like his mindset. His game style and mindset resembles mine. He is very hard-working as well.
TossGirl, when asked who she thinks is the new emperor - JD. He's born good. Also, he practices a lot. His thinking during games is flawless and he never loses his concentration. That comes only with practice. The best gamer comes only from effort.
Horang, on who is his gamer role model - JD. I wanna learn his mindset. It's amazing that he's at the top and yet still practices a lot.
Jangbi. on who's the best - JD. He's a machine! It's amazing how good he is!!
Jae-gyoon Yi (Woongjin Stars coach), when asked who does he think is the best gamer - The gamer that possesses everything a coach wants is JD. Not only he has an amazing record, his mindset and attitude and everything else is flawless. For example, when a coach asks a gamer to practice over 100 games to win a game, many gamers complain. However. JD takes such a demand for granted - a natural way to improve himself. That's the difference of mindset.
UpMagic, on who has the best physical (handspeed/multitasking) - JD. I helped him practice for Batoo OSL and realized that he has the best physical of all time.
Leta, on who has the best physical (handspeed/multitasking) - JD. I sometimes watch his games in total awe. I can think nothing but that he's amazing.
Nada, at a New Year greeting - I began playing StarCraft nine years ago and have been a gamer for seven years. I recently got to practice with JD, and I learned a lot. It's important for a gamer to have goals and passion, and it's also crucial to be modest. JD is at the top and yet is still very modest. Even at the top, he practices more than any other gamer and still has time to take care of fellow gamers. His behavior and sense of responsibility truly live up to the name of a progamer.
"Zero, talking about people thinking him one of the best ZvZ - I practiced with JD yesterday. I lost a lot and realized again how good he is. He is the ultimate boss of ZvZ."
- What thoughts came into your mind as you watched the ace match? ▲ I felt that both (Jaedong and Leta) were really great players. I was left wondering, "How does he do that?" as I watched Jaedong play

I think he means that they are going to get Jaedong to be the voice actor for Kerrigan in SC2 or something.

Why do we need these creepy fanboy threads? Yeah, Jd's number 1/2 in sc and has been since ever 2007. There are naturally going to be a lot of compliments over his capabilities. One can find similar quotes for Bisu, Flash, and going down the line, just about every consistently top player throughout Starcraft history.
Anyway, far be it for me to stop Jaedong fans circle jerk.

I don't really think he's like Boxer, oov, or Savior.
I think of Jaedong more as a player like Nada. Perfect mechanics, works very hard, still modest, and a player that a lot of people fear because of his mechanics.
I don't think Jaedong will burn out until his age starts to restrict his physical condition. His strength is in his mechanics, and players with good mechanics typically stay in the top tier for a very long time (e.g. Nada who stayed in top 30 KeSPA for 7 years).
Bisu's not that bad, it's just that he isn't known for being nice and many of his comments could be taken as arrogant, but I don't think they are. I guess the best way to say it is that Bisu is not politically correct in his interviews. Though of course, PO=/=boring interviews.

Even Nada had a reign, and had an end. Yeah, he kept up as a top player [or topish] for a long period of time, with a few resurgences- but theres no denying that once he left bonjwa status, he was gone. Jaedong's been shown that he can burn out/have a confidence hit [i.e after he lost to fbh a while ago], and it effects his game. Eventually, the confidence hit will be big enough. I dont doubt he'll remain a top player until the end of sc1, and probably into sc2 [if he goes for it?], but its obviously GOING to happen.

I also heard that this Jaedong guy is imba at this broodwar thing. They say that his drones mine 16 minerals at a time instead of 8 which gives him a huge lead over others... o.O
Ahh yes, Bisu: "As of now, Jaedong is slightly ahead on head to head score. When we asked if things were any different during practice, “I lost all the games” Bisu remarked stiffly. Jaedong laughed awkwardly and mentioned that he thinks he may have lost some of them. It seems Bisu remembers the encounter during practice more clearly."

way to paraphrase fantasy and make it sound like he is insulting jaedong. what he said/meant was that while jaedong is really good he is still just a person and you can beat him if you play well enough.
the practice games between jaedong and bisu are from a long, long time ago - when bisu transfered from mbc hero to skt. this was when bisu had his wrist injury and massive slump. since bisu stopped slumping (being near 80% over the last 9 months) he and jaedong have been incredibly close from what we've seen televised, except, of course, for that game. :p
Of the three kings (Flash, Bisu, JD), it seems to me that JD is pulling ahead and is the front-runner for bonjwa status. He has the most individual accomplishments of all of them as well as the higher career win percentage. To top it off, he has winning records against both Flash and Bisu.

i've watched that game so many times. At the time I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Every Zerg had beaten Bisu by simply rolling up and making sure he couldn't get into his monstrous harassment and macro rhythm, hydra all-ins, ling all-ins, whatever it took.
Then here comes Jaedong, and he just absorbs the harass completely. It was like Bisu spent 20 minutes trying to force a ping pong ball through a brick wall. I didn't think what Jaedong did in that game was possible. That's how you can tell a player is truly great.

Flash is ok. He's the only one that still loses to Stork. You can't be best if you lose to second best. Plus, Leta is too strong a contender for best terran.

They are 3-3 starleagues, so, even. He is on par with Bisu, and being Bisu fan i must say it makes Bisu even great having such fight with someone so good as JD.
As for skill they are even, anything different is fanboism, and i cant wait to see the results this year.
This year will define who will be the greatest of the two.

We'll see =). Leta had a weak league showing, but he still wins more than Fantasy in PL. I think it'll show in the few upcoming months when the final 32s and stuff start who the hottest T is. Cmon, It's fuckN Leta. He's so amazing.

Ridiculous game. He lost so many drones, and still out macroed him.
yea, i remember...in that game, bisu build executed very well..he had the nat very fast...and the third up in time...and also a harras with DT, Reaver n Templar...everything go to his favour...n JD still won...
I can't believe Jaedong has a winrate of nearly 69% and a zvz rate of over 80%. If they didn't take out Battle Royale... It's just scary how he takes complete control in his games; what comes to mind in particular is that game on medusa vs yarnc I think where he should have lost but came back and just dominated him.
Even flash himself is barely at 66% and he's been doing very well lately.

Uhh... Khan anyone?
depends on the company. I have no doubt that the team itself really wants him, but it depends how much money (if any at all) samsung as a company is willing to put on the table
Just gonna bump this here; Wow Jaedong was this good.. I started following when Bisu and Flash were on his equals, and quickly took notice of his superb zerg style, and as a zerg newb I quickly became a huge fan of his. Now after understanding the whole history a heck of a lot better, I realise there are still some things you can't really completely know because you weren't there at that period. I'm pretty sure some people don't get what's the hype with July or iloveoov sometimes, and I'm kinda one of those guys, because we joined pretty late. Even if we read statistics, huge long posts about the whole 'timeline' and study interesting graphs we can't really understand why someone would still say 'I would pick bla bla over anyone for XvX matchup even though bla bla is better' DURING a certain era that has passed. It is in threads like these and certain posts that is the only true way of studying the history, and that would take a super long time to really get the whole picture, but amazingly interesting nonetheless. What really prompted me to say this was something in one of the pages that said something like 'Jaedong to be the last emperor before SC2', then an OZ fan replies 'hmmm maybe not..'
And look at what we have now.
Still he is somewhat of the 'last few contenders before SC2', or more specifically the ONLY challenger of the current 'God'. Even though these interviews were so long ago, I believe every good thing said about my most favourite progamer will always feel fresh, even if years ago, or reread twice or three times. Jaedong fighting!
Jaedong has confidence, it's just he's the only damn player on his team. Bisu only has to win one game against a tired out Jaedong (jaedong plays full force every game like 400-500 apm). He played a strong game, it's just sad even a few tiny mistakes in amongst genius decision making swung the game so much into Bisu's favour.

Hiya is not bad..
Jaedong is better than Hiya. Hiya can easily be compared to Best. While SKT has Bisu and Fantasy, Oz only has JD. I personally think that OZ coulda won that semi-finals if they sent PM out earlier but then again, there is this weirdly effective style by SKT's coaching staff and how they handle maps and their line-ups so maybe they got that covered.

Well yeah, they do, I just meant something accessible for me, like on TL or just in English. Is there such a thing, except for stuff like this site which is kind of overdoing it
Jaedong has confidence, it's just he's the only damn player on his team. Bisu only has to win one game against a tired out Jaedong (jaedong plays full force every game like 400-500 apm). He played a strong game, it's just sad even a few tiny mistakes in amongst genius decision making swung the game so much into Bisu's favour.
Jaedong Fighting~! ^^
I won't say that OZ didn't look like a team through most of WL, but no one can tell me they looked like a team in their consecutive losses to SKT. First, Killer SHOULD have one on La Mancha but forgot how to play ZvT for the second half of the game. Then sending Dear was an incredibly retarded decision because you don't send someone with absolutely no PL wins out in a Playoff situation. I don't really have anything bad to say against PM, since he did get that one kill (even tho I wish it had come earlier in the series), but leaving JD to 3 kill 3 players that can beat him... is just stupid.
Hiya might've come out, if Oz had any faith in his TvT (5-11 since PL stared), but seeing as how Ssak beat Leta last week I'm pretty sure Oz was worried (then again Dear being the alternate was retarded). Hiya has the potential to be good, he really does, and I like him, it's just Hiya isn't a consistent enough player for Oz to really on. Fact is, Oz coaching as well as Oz players looked like a one man team against SKT. they also looked like a one man team when they played KT. Fact is, when its a big stage against a powerful team, Oz seems to cave, (at least towards the end of WL).
the only person who wouldn't say JD is the best is prolly flash lol but JD pulls a lot of weight for his team in team league, usually doing an all kill(usually reverse) with the way he works, anyone will want him on their team

Jaedong is just so awesome... I feel bad whenever he loses... My favorite player is Bisu~ but watching Bisu vs Jaedong isn't as fun as it used to be... I just feel so bad for Jaedong... he deserves so many more championships than he has... he has a lot but at his skill level, he should have like so much more~

This OP touches my heart in very special ways. I'd love to see it updated. For some reason this picture of Jaedong reminds me of sAviOr, is this a sign? Jaedong is the incarnation of sAviOr except... Better! How philosophically beautiful.
I didn't want to start a new topic, so I'll post here... Doesn't Jaedong have 200 wins in proleague now? I remember it was mentioned in a recent interview, that he was at 193 wins, and counting recent progress it would seem like he now acquired 7 additional wins. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

I'm not sure if the wins include playoff games, or just regular PL games. Could someone answer this question?
I'm glad someone bumped this thread. It's been a while, and yeah, someone should update this thread with new comments.

With his victory against Fantasy in the playoffs, he got his 200th win in proleague. The commentators said so.
