Jaehoon, "I feel comfortable and my unit control is also smoother"
"After slumping for a while, I'm very happy I have 2 consecutive wins"

Along with your last victory in the eSTRO match, you recorded 2 consecutive wins.
- After losing for a while, it feels really good to have 2 consecutive wins. However, it was Jangbi I beat who I’m very close to, so I’m also a bit sorry. But because I lost to him once before, I thought that today I should win.

You chose a 4 gateway all in rush.
- I was scouted relatively early, so I think that’s why Jangbi didn’t think I would go 4 gateway. I actually had a different strategy prepared but I ended up boldly choosing the 4 gateway strategy.

Were you sure the 4 gateway strategy would work?
- I was sure because it was Jangbi. It’s because we’re friends who know each other very well. I thought about his playing style whenever we practiced together and I figured he wouldn't go dark templar.

Hyun recorded 2 wins in a day.
- Since we won because of him, I’m very thankful to Hyun hyung. Also, because we defeated a strong team without Light and Sea, I’m even happier.

How do you plan on preparing for games in the future?
- When I lost to Pure, my game play actually went very well. Although I did end up losing because of a momentary mistake, after that game I became more comfortable with live matches. I had always felt pressure when playing in live matches before, but now I feel very comfortable and my unit micro is smoother as well. Because I practiced with relative ease, my coach was also pleased. I plan on preparing without pressure, just thinking that if I win, the team will also win.

It’s known that you and Jangbi are very close to one another.
- Whenever we have upcoming matches, we call one another up to help each other. When we’re both on battlenet we chat with each other in the same channel. Initially I was close to Stork hyung, and then Stork hyung introduced me to Jangbi. After that, since we’re the same age and all, we became close very quickly.

Last words you want to say?
- I asked Jaedong if he has the shoes he advertised available. Then Jaedong asked me what shoe size I am. We have a match coming up and I hope he brings the shoes then (laughs). Today if I beat Jangbi, I said I would buy dinner, so when we return later, I will buy my dongsengs dinner.

Original Korean Interview:
+ Show Spoiler +

Hyun, "I wondered when I would achieve 2 wins in a day"
"I want to continue to do well and grasp this opportunity"

It’s the first time you’ve had 2 wins in a day since you debuted as a progamer.
- The players who debuted around the same time as me are doing so well. In our team alone, there is Light, and in other teams there are Jaedong, Leta, Hiya, and Jangbi. After I became a progamer, it’s the first time I’ve achieved 2 wins. I’m very happy, and I wondered when I would record 2 wins in a day, but because I accomplished that today I’m extremely happy. Our team was losing 1:2 and then I won in the 4th set, and right before the 5th set my teammates were extremely encouraging. Because of this I didn’t feel like I could lose. My game play wasn’t as great as I would’ve liked but because I won, I’m satisfied.

You played against a terran today for the first time in a while.
- During Survivor, I once played against terran. However, I lost there, and now I’m waiting to play in the losers match. Because of that, when I found out I had to play a terran in this match I became resolute and practiced with malice. Strangely I played so many games against zerg in the past. Because I had to play terran for the first time in a while, playing against zerg does seem more comfortable. 3 days from now I have another match and it’s against zerg.

You beat firebathero rather easily.
- Firebathero used the same build he used against hyvaa before. Because of this, I was very aware of that build and prepared accordingly. During practice I told my dongsengs to 100% use 1 fact, 1 star, double cc and prepared that way. I could have been counter rushed but I was lucky. My opponent’s bunker was cancelled and that was very important. I feel like I will have to be more aggressive in the future. I don’t do so well when I’m defending.

In the 5th set you had to play great who has been doing great lately.
- Because I received a huge amount of encouragement from the coaching staff and my teammates before the game, I went in thinking I definitely wouldn’t lose. Although great is doing well lately, I didn’t think about that and just focused on my game.

Your game against great wasn’t easy.
- Early in the game my build changed so I began to think too much. Because of this I started upgrade and ended up cancelling and I couldn’t focus. However, after that I suddenly gained concentration and worked hard to play as I had in practice. That was the important part.

Without Sea and Light, you secured a win along with Jaehoon.
- The coaching staff expects a lot from me and Jaehoon. Because I feel like we lived up to their expectations a bit, I’m happy. Also, because they gave me an opportunity to achieve 2 wins, I’m thankful.

Do you think your ‘2 wins in a day’ will be helpful in the future?
- I think it will be extremely helpful. I also gained a lot of confidence for the match coming up in 3 days. I believe I will have to briskly win more games in the future.

You will probably have to work very hard in order to raise your team’s current rank.
- Once our team reaches a momentum, we become scary. Because of this, we never give up. If we just practice hard until the end, I believe we will continue on this winning streak. In doing so, I believe our team rank will naturally go up.

In the future what kind of mindset will you have as you prepare?
- Light and Sea were already great players so I know they will continue to do well. Now, starting with me, it is important that other players become of strong support as well. I want to continue doing well and grasp this opportunity.

Last words you want to say?
- I’m extremely thankful to the players who helped me during practice. Because I achieved 2 wins in a day, I will buy a delicious dinner for them.

Original Korean Interview:
+ Show Spoiler +

Love the tidbit about Jaedong's shoes in Jaehoon's interview hahahaha.
I also like how Hyun doesn't mention that it's JAEDONG he's going to be playing... haha

Not perfect -- feedback welcome and encouraged!!!

Nice interview, I hope Jangbi starts playing well again. Are Jaedong's shoes available to people outside Korea? Are there similar models of such? Jaeshoes.

HyuN looked like he had a ton of potential after that...MSL? where he burst through qualifiers while playing some amazing ZvT against Really on Othello. Then he kind of fell off the map for a half-year...

good to see him back in action!

Thanks for the translations Smix! The Hyun interview was a long one

I have a gripe with Korean interviews. They always portray the game this way:
- Something unexpected happened
- I lost focus
- I suddenly regained focus
- I raped

That's great, but has anyone actually ever had that happen? It sounds so fake. I have NEVER, in the ten thousand games I've played, stopped and said to myself "Yo, let's do this" and then suddenly started raping. It just doesn't happen to me. I find it hard to believe these interviews when the progamers are telling these Hollywood fairy tales. Of course it's also possible that I'm just abnormal...

Me.

Every time that question of "How was your game" or "How did you think you won" and the like appears, I can somewhat guess the answer.

I really hope they can give more straightforward answers like "I noticed a flaw in enemy's defense so I capitalised on it and slowly built my advantage" or something.

Hyun recorded 2 wins in a day.
- Since we won because of him, I’m very thankful to Hyun hyung. Also, because we defeated a strong team without Light and Sea, I’m even happier.

Shows how much respect they have for Light and Sea who should be able to win MBC 75% of their proleague matches.

Jaehoon will never be as cool as Pusan. Just saying.

Yeah, little people answer very honestly. I remember Anytime being like this. FBH answers more openly too, but I think he does this to call for attention :p

I remember an IriS interview with good answers too. You have to blame the interviewers too, they should ask different questions. Pros expect this kind of question, and have nice formal correct answers. If you ask something in a different way, or something weirder, you can force them to replay more honestly.

I heard that Hyun is doing pretty well in practice and that he's actually one of the best MBC players but tends to chocke during live matches.

Ty for translating the interviews. I've read most of your and konadora's translations. Keep it up guys.

Sorry about not posting before but after reading konadora's recent thread, I'll be sure to be thanking you two consistently.
